So, if I’m not Atmos equipped and don’t plan to be, is there any reason to buy the Bluray when I already have the DVD-A?

The Atmos mix is less muddy (or maybe brighter) than its 5.1 counterpart. It also is more conservative with its mixing decisions. This Atmos mix is also by no means a replication of the 5.1 mix, and this is coming from someone who listened to the Atmos "mixed down" for my 7.1 setup.

In some cases, an album's Atmos mix sounds far better "mixed down" to 5.1 than its dedicated 5.1 mix. (The Atmos mix of 10 000 Hz Legend by Air comes to mind.) It all depends on the mix, so keep watch of these poll threads!

I enjoyed the Atmos mix more than the 5.1. The vocals are really upfront and the separation is better to my ears. The drums and vocals in “Dreams” sound like they are in front of me on stage. “The Chain” is another highlight. I voted 9.
Btw, John McVie is the unsung hero on many of these tunes. He is so in the pocket.

I listened tonight for the 3rd or 4th time before posting my review here.
I find the Atmos mix a bit disappointing in it's under-use of the rear and overhead channels, somewhat boring in that aspect. OTOH, the separation I hear of the instruments and vocals up front and sides really brings out what I can hear going on in the mix, a very nice listening experience for me here. I found it somewhere around a strong 8 but I'm going to give it a 9 overall since it is such a great album musically to me. Its one of those albums that really showcase why the 1970s was such a great era for the creation of rock music.

Would really love to know the Atmos set ups owned by those members who were compelled to write a positive review of this Bluray offering.
Of all my Atmos recordings, this is by far the worst. The use of the rear and height channels is very limited, almost non-existent and the overall sound is shrill.
The mix, which was undertaken by Chris James, is extremely disappointing and I can't help thinking he missed a great opportunity to produce an exciting and imaginative version of this Fleetwood Mac classic.
The discs' only redeeming feature is the option to listen in dts hd 5.1 which is brilliant, offering up a warm, easy listening true surround sound, which almost compensates for the cost!
(message to Chris James, please listen to Pink Floyd's 50th anniversary TDSOTM, and take note of what a great Atmos recording CAN sound like!)

Sorry, I never owned the DVD-A or the SACD versions, so I can't comment.

It's the same 5.1 mix, same mastering. (And that includes a possible error with the center channel of "Go Your Own Way" being slightly out of phase.)

I gave it a 9, i’m on a 5.2.2 system, for me it’s better than the sacd which I had before this which was also a 9, but not a great deal better hence the score remaining the same. I always turn up the rears and heights when listening to atmos and find it does make a difference, if you want to give it a try turn up the rears by 2 db’s and the heights by 4 db’s, it cant hurt can it?

I have ceiling speakers ( about a foot in front of listening position) and can confirm that there’s definitely height channel activity.

I don't deny woody, that there is some height channel activity, particularly the tracks towards the end of the play list, but it's very limited. There are great Atmos recordings and poor Atmos recordings, this falls into the latter camp, (imho). The mix quality is reminiscent of Purple Rain, another Chris James Atmos production and one that earned plenty of negative reviews. (Lessons to be learned there!)

last time i played the streaming version on Apple Music the Atmos more closely resembled the original Stereo rather than the DVD-Audio/SACD but i haven't opened up the Atmos Blu-ray yet to check
