I am not a headphone listener, but I have a pair. You can still buy them. I think they still repair them. They have to be one of the best value deals in all of audio. And they punch way above thier weight.Grado SR60s

Yeah, I've modded mine over the years with built-in RCA jacks so cables are easy to replace, and Sennheiser HD414 pads. And I've had to send them back one time to replace a bad driver. Grado fixed it and sent them back with an invoice, no payment at all before they sent them back repaired. That's amazing service.I am not a headphone listener, but I have a pair. I got bit again by the surround bug - Atmos this time. But my ceilings are vaulted. So I got an Atmos receiver and Blu-ray player, got large LF/RF speakers, five good surround speakers on 36" high stands (LR/RR/ML/MR/C) and I can hear stuff never heard before and there is that clique 'reach out to feel the music' going on. I happy other than the speaker wires that run under the rugs (taped down). Any upgrade suggestion is welcome as long as they aren't thousands of dollars more. My "Dark Side...OTM" Atmos disc "displays/speaks" the sounds in the right spots.Yep. My guess is very few of us, if any, started with the types of systems we have now. We all started with transistor radios, or something similar, and worked our way up from there, each new upgrade being a welcome and much enjoyed improvement over what we had before. Few people go from A to Z in one bite whether that is due to cost restrictions or space restrictions or we simply haven’t developed an ear or taste for something “more”.
The point, as always, is enjoying the music!
This is the reason why I live alone happy with my speakers who only tell nice words to me.Hi all, have started to buy atmos mixes recently and come here to lurk to see opinions on the latest and upcoming releases. I only have a samsung q series soundbar set up, with rears but it sounds great to me. My other half won't let me have a full set up anyway so not an option, lol.
With that attitude, I don't think the choice was yours. This is the reason why I live alone happy with my speakers who only tell nice words to me.
Bet you can't wait. Hope to see them live at some point.I’ll be seeing Kraftwerk perform on March 29 at the Auditorium Theater in Chicago.
There is no way I can have ceiling speakers. I did have a surround system when I first moved in and she hated it and she will never have ceiling speakers, she is not a fan of surround period, "it's too loud" is all I get, she has the soundbar off when watching the TV down here.Cat!
Soundbar will naturally come to dissatisfy you, but that's a natural part of the audio learning curve.
Has your partner bought into surround music at all?
I have the Q900a which is 3 years old. It has a beast of a sub which I've had to dial down a bit. I only recently got the rears which leads me to buying the blu ray audio discs. Have a few from the SDE collection, including Elton John, Diamonds. Have never bought anything by him before, have been an admirer rather than a fan. On fact have bought music I would never normally have bought, like Carly Simon's no secrets, it's revitalised my enjoyment of music. I have Yello's point, just waiting on Kraftwerk boxset, Fleetwood Mac, rumours, which I honestly never heard before (I'm 55) apart from the well known songs, Air moon safari, the Cure lost world, which is the music I would normally listen to.Im a firm believer in enjoying the music first and formost, and that can be done on even the most meger equpment. Just by having surrounds you will be able to enjoy 80% or so of what multichannel music has to offer. A subwoofer would give a lot of bang for the buck on a system like yours, both with movies and music, and they often are acceptable with respect to WAF (wife acceptance factor). Do you have one attached to the soundbar? Can you attach one to the soundbar.
Is the soundbar atmos compatable?
What kind of music to you like? If you are an Elton John fan that new Diamond release is spectacular. Maybe you can still get one.
