I dug out my SQ LP and it is packaged the same, no gatefold cover, with an inner liner has a few Quad system drawings and other LP listings. So maybe they just decided to package this release as per the original?

Just the sheer fact Birds of Fire is priced on par with domestic [US] Stereo SACD reissues is AMAZING! And LOTUS did contain 3 hybrid QUAD SACDs so for US $70 [$23.33 per disc] still a bargain, IMO.

A fair observation, but it appears this is also the lowest-priced release in this series, about the same as a plastic jewel case.

It seems the cost increases in proportion to how elaborately the 7-inch replica packaging is presented.
Topped by the 22-panel Santana Lotus reproduction.

So if you're a "don't make me pay for scarfs and marbles" buyer, you win.

Yeah, I was a tad disappointed at the sparse BoF package. But certainly a bargain on SACD.
