Ya I'm not sure now after seeing that page, it is very vague. No mention of Hendrix, and like WTF Bull moose has nothing either.????

I also checked the Amazon (US) link for the upcoming Deluxe Edition of Electric Ladyland and saw the same thing (also none of the other online vendors have anything on it yet). This should change within a few days so keep checking.

Wonder if it will get the original cover this time around?
Word on the street is the man himself was NOT a fan it turns out!

See post #29.
Looks like Jimi gets his wish 50 years late.

Hendrix had written to Reprise describing what he wanted for the cover art, but was mostly ignored. He expressly asked for a color photo by Linda Eastman of the group sitting with children on a sculpture from Alice in Wonderland in Central Park, and drew a picture of it for reference.

Much of the album (including its two epic length tracks) was recorded at the Record Plant in NYC. According to the Wikipedia entry, it was a 12-track studio. Hopefully that gave Kramer enough flexibility to create an active surround mix.

Check this line out from the entry:

"In 1970, Studio A became the first recording studio designed for mixing quadraphonic sound."

Hmm . . . :SB

Electric Ladyland Deluxe Edition includes a full color, 48-page book containing Jimi’s handwritten lyrics, poem and instructions to his record label, as well as never before published photos from the recording sessions that were shot by Eddie Kramer himself. All contained in a deluxe casemade book with new cover art which is true to Hendrix’s original vision of the album’s cover: a Linda (McCartney) Eastman photograph of the band and children at the statue of Alice In Wonderland in New York’s Central Park.

CD1: the original album, now newly remastered by Bernie Grundman from the original analog tapes.
CD2: Electric Ladyland: The Early Takes, which presents 20 never before heard demos and studio outtakes from this period in Hendrix’s career.
CD3: Jimi Hendrix Experience: Live At the Hollywood Bowl 9/14/68, part of Experience Hendrix’s Dagger Records official bootleg series. The never before released recording captures the band and the mounting excitement that took place just weeks before the release of Electric Ladyland.
Blu-ray: includes the acclaimed full-length documentary At Last… The Beginning: The Making of Electric Ladyland plus a new 5.1 surround sound mix of the entire original album by Hendrix’s original engineer Eddie Kramer plus the original stereo mixes in uncompressed 24 bit/96 kz high resolution audio.

WOW, OH WOW I'm over the moon, the first Hendrix album I bought (& on cassette) and now in surround. There is not enough space to put all the dancing bananas! So its a Yipeeee....

Yeah, I'm pretty excited...but I'm getting more joy out of hearing everyone's excitement over this. Just awesome....

Yep....this is the best "day 1" in recent memory...usually by now the "negative nellies" are raining on the parade....even the unrealistic posts about how great the surround will be haven't started yet...yes...excitement is awesome...and I...like you...are enjoying this a LOT(y)
