In 1974, RCA/Victor Japan seem to have changed their tape numbering system, which also coincided with a price increase from 3,000 yen per tape to 3,300 yen per tape. As you can see from these tapes, although the catalog prefix changed from J4S to RQJ (RCA Quad Japanese perhaps?) everything else remained the same - the design, layout and colours are the same.

Just a side note: Macaroni Western should be really Spaghetti Western. It's a movie genre.

Oh I know, but that's the literal translation of the text on the tape - I actually googled to make sure it wasn't a mis-translation and the wiki page about Spaghetti Westerns actually mentions that they're called "macaroni westerns" in Japan - some sort of cultural thing I guess.

Oh yes, good catch! I was wondering what the 50/16 thing meant, but it makes sense now. I'm guessing that 50mm tape is the metric equivalent of 2 inch tape, so by mentioning recordings as being from 2" 16 track masters, they were touting their sonic qualities.
