Thanks Jon - a lot of credit for this should go to @bigbillquad for taking the time to take all these photos. Glad I could pitch in and make sense of it all - hopefully sharing it will unearth more stuff like this. Amazing that these tapes were virtually unknown in the English-speaking world until now, some 40 years later.

Posting should wrap up tomorrow night with the 30 or so tapes of the QW/VQW series which includes "the good stuff", ie the handful of Motown and AVCO Q8's.

Thanks to all for this conribution.
What does surprise me on all the cross-referencs to the CD4 counterpart or USA editions is that the cat.n. are all over the place: doesn't seems that CD4 and Q8 were released at the same time and at the same pace, sometimes the CD4 cat.n. is lower than Q8, sometimes is bigger, as they were driven by two independent branch of Victor. Very messy history, would not be easy to find out the references.
