Mr Moto sure looks ready for his walk. I sure do enjoy your pics. 001.jpg004.jpg005.jpg My latest piece of gear is this fully restored 1939 Zenith model 7s 363.

Great pice of Zenith technology. It reminded me that a large monument here in Pretoria, called the Voortrekker Monument, was described by one wag as being like "a 1930's table model Zenith radio without the knobs on". I think you can see the likeness...

Harman Kardon T35C turntable, Harman Kardon 44+ CD4 demodulator and a Yamaha MT120 4 channel cassette recorder/player. 3 3/4 ips with dbx works good for recording quad.

I didnt know the Heathkit should have a decoder board. So much to learn. I will have to look for an operators manual for the Heathkit. I do have an owners manual for this JVC 4VR-990

That Zenith radio is just beautiful. How things have changed.

Yeah, that JVC is gorgeous.

The decoder board for the AA-2010 plugs onto 8 pins sticking out of the control preamp board way on the right side. There should be a screw hole in the chassis near there for a screw which secures it. It is switched in when you select "MATRIX 4 CH." on the front.

So, some dastardly individual removed it before you bought it then, huh?

It's a bummer that I have the assembly/maintenance manual but no working scanner.

Doug

Thanks for the information on the heathkit. I will see if I can find the location you mentioned. Buyer beware. I am soldering in a new relay for the JVC. It is very nice condtion.

I had one of those in 1972 I bought in Stuttgart Germany . Not sure if its the same model # looks the same . I have a picture of it with the Watergate news on the tv in my picture collection. Sold it when the construction work dried up here in the mid 70s in Fl. All the hunderds of rtr tapes, rtr, Ar turntable and four sansui speakers Koss headphones with 20 foot cord extensions . Labled all the tapes when I recorded them and where . Sold for 500.00 I had to eat. Ended up picking tomatoes in Immokalee Fl with the migrant workers 25 cents a basket. I ate a lot of tomatoes LOL. So when I decided to replace the gear years later it was a good feeling that is why I have a lot of Sansui stuff. The biggest loss was the hundreds of Reel to reel tapes Dammit. Well enough of that here is my latest purchase ami_bubbler_jukebox_sm.jpgmy juke box.jpg This is a AMI 1946 model A juke box restored .( Mother of plastic) I closed the deal today and I drive to Gainesville in the morning to take ownership. It belonged to a Federal Judge his private collection. Only 12 thousand of these were built compared to the over 100 thousand + of the Whurlitzer bubbler.

That AMI juke box is beautiful, nice lines and color. I almost threw away my Maxell cassettes just a few months before I started collecting vintage stereo equipment. When I recorded them 30 or 35 years ago I had idea that I would still be listening to them now. I did have a Teac RR which I traded to friend for a ride to Newark airport.

I was going on vaction to Florida. My friend still has the RR and the tapes that I gave him. I'll have to see if he recorded over them, I did offer to buy the Teac back from him. We'll see what happens. Do you have any gardenia bushes? I have 2 and they have just started to bloom. I love the smell, here is a photo of my first gardenia flower this year. Sony TA-1055amplfier.

Doug: I found the location for the decoder board for the Heathkit. It looks like it was never installed, the screw holes look untouched.

That will be nice if you can get the tapes back. No Gardenia however my Tangerien and orange trees are in bloom.Nice picture with the flower I drove 400 hundred miles today to pick up the juke box. Way out in the sticks. I have the thing all loaded with 78s button 1A is Shake ,Rattle and Roll by Bill Haley 15 inch speaker on top Amp putting out 12 watts.002.jpg005.jpg008.jpg

Well, let's see: Picked up a Pioneer Elite DV-59AVi for $30 at a garage sale, also got one of those Yamaha MT120's as well for $10 with a bunch of cables.

Just picked up a Sony Ta-N330ES (Elevated Standard) Stereo Power amp at a church sale for $5. The thing is near mint and sounds fantastic. it will go in my 5.1 system powering RF and LF JBl L212's (or Elite TZ 7's, or Marantz HD 770's or Technics SB 6060's) depending on which button I push!

That AMI has a lot details to take in. I bet it sounds good and is a treat to watch it cycle records. Here is my JVC stack I like how small the model numbers are for the SEA-V7E, VT-700 and the 4VR-990. The VT-700 tuner has 2 incorrect knobs.

I bought this Sony tuner last year for $10 dollars thru CL and it has the owners manual. It was nice to get the matching amplifier.
