LATEST Piece of Gear in Your Stack - What is it?

Scored a nice clean pair of Infinity Infintesimal four speakers. I had to reform the woofer surrounds. Other than that they are immaculate. And not bad sounding for their size.
Planning to use these as my height speakers when I upgrade to Atmos in my music listening room.
I love the older Infinity speakers. This will make my seventh pair of various models.
Now I just have to convince the wife to let me hang speakers from the living room ceiling.

My Sony isn't quite "new." I've had it for two years or so, but I couldn't use it because I only have one set of speakers.

Well, thanks to two (one for front and one for rear) amp/speaker controllers, it's now hooked up and plays beautifully!

I promise to fix the.red.and green labels with some nice Sony and Sansui logos.

The old Quad equipment was so beautiful. Now we got tiny displays you need a magnifying glass to read (well at my age anyway).
Now their idea of beauty is to rearrange the buttons on the front....and add nonsense metrics to power output.

Just got back from my favourite audio store (Audio Ark) in Edmonton where I puchased 3 Marantz Model 30 integrated amplifiers to replace my Rega Brios. Should be here in about 10 days. Can't wait!!

I dropped in to a local brick & mortar store on Friday, looking to spend about $2k on a turntable that would let me play my CD-4 records. The shop owner wasn’t all that familiar with the format (no surprise) but he said he would call the cartridge manufacturer and find out on Monday. It’s Wednesday and no call.

I guess I’ll try someone else.

Audio magazine October issues (worldradiohistory.com) have a column listing the capacitance, tonearm wiring capacitance values aren't published now, that needs to be no more than 100pF to work for CD-4.

Perhaps. The spec sheet I saw showed that the cartridge/stylus combination would pick up 40kHz, so it ought to work. I often wonder how long Shibata styli last.

AFAIK, Grado phono carts don't need low capacitance tonearm wiring to work for CD-4.

Congratulations! While it's not a perfect piece of gear (gapless playback over Ethernet? Nope.), it's outstanding and it's been my primary source component for about five years.
