Max Webster -
High Class in Borrowed Shoes

Diving farther into the Max Webster box set with album #2.
Definite progression from their first record.
Excellent album, great title.

Max Webster - A Million Vacations

On to album #4. Half of the tracks were either singles or got significant airplay here in Canada and I can see why, this is a killer album.
As a huge supporter of homegrown music I can’t believe I never bought any of their records until the last one (Universal Juveniles). Shame on me.

Max Webster - Mutiny Up My Sleeve

Album #3 (the catalog numbers in the box set are out of whack so inadvertently played them out of recorded sequence).
No hits here but recognize Lip Service.
Another very good album, but doesn’t quite reach the level of High Class or Vacations.

Max Webster - Live Magnetic Air

Decent enough live album, interesting mix of hits and album tracks.
Like most live records the sound lacks something.

Kim Mitchell - EP

Disc #7 in the Max Webster box set is Kim Mitchell’s solo debut.
Nothing here matches what he did with Max. Nice punchy sound.

Max Webster - The Bootleg

8th and last disc from the Max Webster box.
An odd mix of demos and live tracks, most of it very good.

Heavy Jack 3 - Multiply

The second release (2008) from this local indie band.
Way more rock and roll than their excellent What Is Love album that I played recently.
They don’t sound like your typical bar band. Great original songs (plus a killer cover of Jumpin’ Jack Flash) and these guys can play.
I know the bass player and drummer and won’t be blowing smoke up their a****s when I tell them I love this album.
