Steve Morse falls into the “Jack of all trades, master of... all of them” category. (Rik Emmett of Triumph is another guy who just seems to be able to play anything on the guitar.)

The first time I heard Steve was on his solo album, The Introduction. Still a great listen. Had some Dregs CDs at one time, but got misplaced in one of many moves over the years.
He's great. Unfortunately I have never seen him with The Dregs. I've seen him with Deep Purple a few times amd Flying Colours once. He really can do it all. From prog to funk to fingerpicking. And he is a SUPER nice guy. I met him on one of the Cruise to the Edge trips.

Roxy Music - Flesh + Blood

Musically, the logical stepping stone from Manifesto to Avalon. Had forgotten how good the title track is and the sublime My Only Love (though the live version from The High Road EP is even better). The two cover tracks aren’t great but the album as a whole is a winner.

Roxy Music -
Singles, B-Sides and Alternative Mixes

Bonus tracks from the box set.
Some amazing stuff here. Thrilled to have the single mix of Dance Away (with the prominent castanets (?) that are missing on the album version) and the Avalon b-side, Always Unknowing, is great.

Arif Mardin - Journey (SHM-CD)

Arif Mardin was an in-house producer for Atlantic for many years. This sadly underrated album features an ensemble of amazing players like Billy Cobham, Hubert Laws, Ron Carter, Grady Tate, Pepper Adams, Gary Burton, Randy Brecker, Michael Brecker, Bernard Purdie, Tony Levin, Joe Farrell and many others. Think of this album as if CTI Records had released a movie soundtrack in 1974. It's a perfect blend of Jazz, Funk and Fusion.

If you like 1970's movie soundtrack composers like Herbie Hancock, Quincy Jones, Dave Grusin, Lalo Schifrin and Michael Small and Miles Davis' electric albums of that era, you need this album.

I had never heard of keyboard players Ken Bichel and Pat Rebillot before I heard this album, but these two gentlemen truly shine here. They're all over the music and elevate it. Brilliant!

HDtracks offers the CD resolution files for $6.98. Bargain price for such a superb album!

I'm sick of love

Yup I found my Time Out of Mind cd Amazon says I bought in 2010 and am spinning it now.
I do like Love Sick and his voice was still somewhat musical at this time.

Folks here might recall that one song Cold Irons Bound appeared in a 5.1 mix on the promo Bob Dylan SACD sampler from years ago.
I've got a feeling by the end of this album I'll be punching buy for the new atmos version.

It's the kind of music I could listen to pushing a shopping cart down a cold dirty street.
