Elton John - Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy

Such a great album, ton of memories attached to this one. This must be the 5th or 6th time around buying it, this version was bought entirely for the concert on the 2nd disc, and it’s excellent, we’ll worth the $10.59 I paid on sale.
Mastering on disc one sounds OK, though SSMLT is pushed too far in places.
It’s in a cardboard O-card. Earlier pressings had a plastic slip cover and lyric booklet, not included here.

My Rare Earth MQA CD showed up today. I only ordered Get Ready. Wanted to see how well they engineered these CDs before I ordered more. Not had a chance to listen to as - luck would have it - we have a major ice storm raging outside with expected power outages - so my main system with MQA spinner is currently unplugged. Ill put it on the 'to be listened to this weekend ' stack.

WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 AM EST THURSDAY...

* WHAT...Significant icing. Total ice accumulations of three
tenths to one half of an inch. Sleet amounts up to one inch.
Winds gusting as high as 40 mph.

* WHERE...Allegan, Barry, Eaton, Ingham, Calhoun and Jackson
counties.

* WHEN...Until 4 AM EST Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Power outages and tree damage are likely due to the
ice. Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions

Marillion - Misplaced Childhood

Great set. Sounds much better than my old CD. Disappointingly, other than one b-side, Steven Wilson’s remix work is 5.1 only so I listened to that downmixed along with the 24/96 stereo remaster. It’s good both ways but a missed opportunity nonetheless.
Demos and B-Sides excellent and the Live in Utrecht tracks are amazing.
