That's all fine, but how is Atmos sounding in the new man cave? Inquiring minds want to know.
Got it all calibrated? Who's on first? LOL.
For that matter, I don't know or remember what you're using for amps/avr's/decoders, however you're doing it, if you care to share?
hey Boonie. Sorry for late reply. My new set up---challenging at the moment. I still have a ways to go. There has been some software gremlins. There are the 2 JL Audio subs that now need foam surround repair. The room - acoustically - needs some tweaks. The foundation is there but the execution is not as good as it can be at the moment. Prolly a good 6 to 8 weeks out before this sucka gets to where I want it to be

Patience, MY MAN! It's a HUGE space and with so many speakers choosing the right sound treatments will take awhile. EQing the room will help but even then you'll still need to make some adjustments. And permanent sound reinforcements may NOT be the answer because once they're installed you can't rearrange them.

My Shakti holographs worked wonders in my space and they're moveable but with so many speakers in your system you'd need a dozen and they ain't cheap!

So you have 4 subs I'm guessing?
I know that acoustic treatments can help a lot in some rooms. But a good calibration can go a long ways to cancel those reflections. I don't know what sort of calibration system you have: Audyssey, Dirac or whatever, but can make a big difference.
Hope you get the sub repairs straightened out soon. Placement can surely make a difference: but a good room calibration can ease a lot of that, or should, when sub placement is more or less fixed.
I have the bonus of a fairly small audio room with limited options for speaker placement as well as slanted ceiling. lol.
Ah, the lengths we go to for our music. I've moved speakers and other things many times. I moved two of the height speakers several times, and still ended up rotating everything 90* until I was happy, or as good as my old hearing and Dirac Live will allow for.

Since I'm planning on installing a new TV I guess I get to go through it again and build a platform for the TV else put it so high I'll have terminal neck pain so as not to block that center speaker.
First world problems.

went down into a Very Satisfying Yes wormhole. Very Satisfying. The mastering and sonics of these two are --- SCHWING !!!

One thing I’ve learned about listening rooms - they are never done.

The only ones I quit working on were in houses I sold.

Don't laugh but when I was in college performing in a musical a fraternity brother named Mario told me that with some training I could become an opera singer!

Now you can laugh!
I’m sorry Ralphie but you’re confused. Actually, IIRC, it was @fredblue who told you that you didn’t need any training to become a diva!

BTW Ralphie, if you don’t have this gem of an album (recorded in 1962 but not released until 2022; remixed from the original Roy Halee master tapes from Barbra’s personal vault), you NEED to run out and get it! You can thank me later!

BEAT YA TO IT....POSTED ON QQ FORUM FEBRUARY 17, 2023:

Barbra Streisand LIVE AT THE BON SOIR [Columbia Records/IMPEX Stereo SACD] Actually, Barbra's debut album which sat in her 'private' vaults for 6 decades. Contains 24 tracks and comes packaged in a hard covered case with 31 page glossy booklet. HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION.

Elton John - Jewel Box

Amazing compilation, makes me remember why I loved his music so much in the 70’s and early 80’s.
I know every lyric and nuance of those early tracks like it was 1975 and the 80’s material makes me realize I need to go back and revisit those albums.
The early demo discs are filled with some great stuff, they were so talented and prolific even then, and the B-Sides are the biggest treasure here.
The package is beautiful and informative. The mastering, though a bit odd in places, is fine.
