More Steve Reich (haven't listened to it yet):

Also: looks like a whole bunch of Velvet Underground tracks--maybe even a couple of complete albums--have been upgraded today? Or maybe it's just the same tracks as before but in different packages.
Enjoying the Steve Reich, appreciate the pointer.

But after getting excited at the prospect of more Velvet Underground, all I'm seeing in Atmos are the tracks from the first album, which has been out for awhile... can you link to any VU songs in Atmos that aren't from The Velvet Underground & Nico? Thanks.

The brick had them all in 5.1 so hopefully Chris Franz was able to revisit (remember him saying it was a blast to work on the 5.1 mixes), but even if they just transferred the original 5.1 in an Atmos wrapper, it's all good.
If they did that it would make more sense to release them as Dolby Audio on Apple and 360RA on Tidal.

I have listened to this and I can recommend it as very immersive AND it has Warner’s name attached to distribution:

Can only rationalize that they are hell bent on ruining the classics…

‘What So Not’s’ album is a good dose of solid electronica by the way….

Sure--and yeah; I suspected they might just be repackaged tracks from the first album. Give me a while to scroll back through the Twitter page that's tracking all of this, though....

Edit: so here's Ben Dodson's "Spatial Audio Releases" Twitter feed:
https://twitter.com/NewSpatialAudioAnd yeah--the multiple VU tracks I was glimpsing yesterday were all on Gold, Peel Slowly and See 1965-1969, and the Super Deluxe edition of the debut album. So...repeats.

What's wrong with Underwater by Ludovico Einaudi (video edition) which is labelled as Atmos? Sounds terrible. Really muddy and has a hiss distortion.

Yet the Reimagined (2 tracks) are great

I checked a few tracks out on Tidal last night and they sounded good to me. Solo piano on the ones I played so only so much you can expect in terms of immersion but I'll be revisiting this in the future.

Contact Apple if the problem persists and I'm sure they'll correct it.
