On my Firecube interface, I haven't been able to find a new Atmos listing for about two months. However, I have found that scrolling to the end of the track listings I can often find what I'm looking for there. So today I went after the new Crown Lands. Interspersed with the tracks for Fearless was a cover of "Come Together". So awesome. Boy do they sound like Rush.

i had several of those Lucio Battisti records in my Music Library already, he was a fantastic artist, my Italian partner loves him among many other greats from his home country as you can imagine quite a bit gets played around the house 🤩
The atmos mixes of Battiato’s albums are the best on offer in my opinion, among Italian artists. There are two available, La voce del padrone and l’imboscata, plus a compilation and the live above.
The studio albums are very well done!

yes, i have had the Battiato albums in Atmos for a while now, the Surround mixes of those 2 albums in particular were superb and musically of course, he was just a genius!! 😍

Some albums I have enjoyed listening to this week that I haven’t noticed a mention:

Some infectiously toe-tapping dance music that has some tracks drawing heavy influence from 90’s style electronica with an upbeat, positive vibe. Some very effective usage of ceiling effects. Standout tracks:
Certainly up @beerking’s alley and should blow some froth off.

Not your standard run of the mill hip hop with Zimbabwean cultural influences and a creative mix that keeps you engaged. For me to listen to a modern day hip hop album from start to finish is a rarity. Standout track: Tilibobo by Sampa the Great

A solid album from crossover artist with some good harmonica usage on some tracks. Lauren Daigle by Lauren Daigle Standout track: New by Lauren Daigle

Enjoyed the back-catalogue album of this Aussie electronica maestro: Not All the Beautiful Things by What So Not

Some interesting collaborations here featuring the likes of ex-Silverchair frontman Daniel Johns, Skrillex, and of all bands 80’s Yacht Rockers- Toto!
We Keep On Running by What So Not & Toto

Quite enjoyable rock album with some very engaging Atmos elements, and a unique approach to song crafting/lyrics that had me listening throughout: I Love You, I’m Trying by grandson
Try the first couple of tracks out for size.

Is there any way to get a list of ATMOS releases in Apple, Tidal or Amazon? I cannot find any. It seems it is a matter of jumping in and seeing what is available. Tidal offers a generous trial before subscribing, but before trying it I'd like to know if there is anything for me. I am interested in seeing if there is anything that I don't have in physical media that I am missing, primarily interested in prog. Kansas for instance would be a good reason for me to explore it.

there's no Kansas in Dolby Atmos right now, unfortunately and as far as i am aware there has never been any Quadraphonic or 5.1 mixes of Kansas' albums released over the years either, which is a great shame and a surprise as their wonderful music would perfectly lend itself to Surround.

with regards to lists and finding things, this to me is the most unsatisfactory aspect of the streaming services at this time, despite Tidal and Apple Music having categories for Atmos/Spatial Audio it can still be a veritable nightmare of trial and error hunting for Atmos and Dolby Audio!

sorry i couldn't be more help, for what it's worth there's lots of cool Atmos/Spatial content, just no Kansas right now and much of what is available is not that easy to locate. maybe if you name some of your other favourite bands, we can try and find some Atmos/Spatial streaming versions?

For Apple Music, you can use this third-party search tool to query your favorite artists.

Tidal has fewer exclusive tracks/albums than Apple Music, plus many of the Sony/Columbia artists have their spatial audio catalog in the 360 Reality Audio format vs Dolby Atmos.

None of the classic catalogue, but the most recent album The Absence of Presence was mixed in 5.1.

Thank you for the help! The Spatial Audio Finder seems to work like a charm.
As a prog fan it is an embarrassment of riches what is already available in physical media. Most of what survived as multitracks or quadraphonic mixes has already been released. The upcoming Camel box is a dream come true for me, as it was the latest Zappa and VdGG releases.
My concern is a possible shift to streaming.
Suppose that the already mixed Interview and The missing piece by Gentle Giant will never come out as bluray?
Supposedly Leftoverture was mixed for a 5.1 SACD release like 20 years ago. I know through Kansas fans that the multitracks for the classic period (think up to Point of know return) has survived and didn't perish in the Universal fire. Partial proof is the release of some multitracks for the RockBand game.
If those and others are released instead as streaming, then I would have no choice than subscribing.

Thanks, I was aware of that one. Speaks volumes of my thinking of that not being "Kansas proper" that I forgot about it. There is a live DVD of that band playing some "classic" Kansas, it is surround-ish in a live type of mix, lossy ac3. Beats having nothing, of course!
