Has anyone listened to the Atmos mix of "Walking In Memphis" by Marc Cohn? It's on Tidal:

https://tidal.com/browse/track/209719285

Not sure about other services. I don't subscribe to any, so I can't listen to it, but Marc Cohn's debut album is one of my all-time favorites. Very curious how this mix sounds.
I've the CD of his debut as well, wonderful album

Slightly off topic, but I searched my three subscriptions (Tidal, Amazon, Apple) yesterday and thought it a rather boring Friday... to come here and find all these amazing releases... where on earth would we be without this incredible thread?

So this is not completely pointless, here's some Australian atmos I've discovered only on Apple Music lately:

I think Cape Forester came out a week or so ago. Really enjoying it. Love those two. I believe I saw them in Austin, Texas a dozen years ago and have been a fan ever since.

Best of collection from the French legend.
Most songs are orchestral and all instruments are spread very well through all channels.
two things immediately leap to mind!

i wonder if this means Simon Heyworth is now setup for Atmos since he did all the Aznavour 5.1's on SACD previously?

and.. is this compilation the start of a wider reissue campaign? 🤔

here's a couple of strange (to me seemingly redundant) new remixes but they're also in Atmos so here goes...

Would be great if they gave Aznavour the Gainsbourg treatment. And then Becaud, just for kicks. Even better if they tackled Jacques Brel.

You think Jean-Etienne Loose engineered the stereo version only, then? I'm not finding any other MCh credits for him.

Anyone check out one hand clapping yet? On my agenda for Saturday listening session this afternoon!
Yeah, I've given it a listen. It's got some discrete moments, and some moments that I really liked, but it's nothing I'd call demo material. I'm downmixing to 5.1 so take my commentary with a grain of salt.

@JediJoker @DuncanS re: Marc Cohn.
Only the self/titled song is in atmos. Hopefully the same person mixes the rest someday.
Such a great album. For me, so many good memories of my Dad.
Pretty nice mix on the song. Vocal is all up front, in L, R, C and also top front. On the lines "down in the jungle room" and "do a little number" there are extra vocals in the back. There's some Hammond in the heights, and plenty of piano reverb. Some synth pad in the rear in the first verse. The second verse guitar arpeggios are pretty prominent in the sides, rear, and rear top. Seems to me that is the most apparent difference from the stereo mix. The gospel vocals at the end are kinda everywhere.
-- I didn't realize Steve Gadd drummed on 29 ways (..."29 ways to make it my baby's door" kinda funny since it's sort of the opposite of 50 ways to leave your lover), or that Jerry Marotta drummed on Saving the Best for Last and Perfect Love.
Fun to listen to it all again.

Nor did I! Love hearing James Taylor on the backups for "Perfect Love."

Not as good as Pet Sounds or Band on the Run mix wise for Giles?
