Charles Gerhardt and the National Philharmonic Orchestra • Gone with the Wind: Max Steiner’s Classic Film Score
[SACD Hybrid Stereo]

A truly SPECTACULAR remaster by Michael J. Dutton from the original RCA analogue master tapes!

Max Steiner's eminently listenable score has been well served by Charles Gerhardt and the National Philharmonic Orchestra ....gorgeous themes throughout!

Man, those numbers are crazy good!

Dynamic Range values for above. While good, and the fidelity kicks ass....in terms of sheer numbers, the Van Halen ll has better DR values. We all know that doesn't always translate to high quality listening.

One thing I do notice, is the VH ll has some incredible punchy drums and bass. More dominant than this Eagles. Just an observation and doesn't make this title any less enjoyable.

I'll be buying every single VH SACD they release.
I can remember a time on here when these releases were looked down upon because they weren't multichannel
If I could have had this high of quality of fidelity back in my old Cutlass 4.4.2 with my Pioneer indash and Jenson Triax II's......oh boy. Those cassettes just could not match what this brings.
That's what I'm talking about..flying down this road :dance :bowing: :LB

Oscar Peterson -
Exclusively For My Friends Vol.IV
My Favorite Instrument

Thrilled to find a reasonably priced sealed copy to complete the set, after at least 15 years on the wish list.
Great sound and didn’t expect to be so captivated by nothing more than a solo piano.
Years ago I went with my late father and youngest brother to see Oscar Peterson and his band at the Birmingham Symphony Hall, absolutely brilliant, he was one of our father's musical 'heroes' I still have all of his LPs
