Serge Gainsbourg - Histoire de Melody Nelson. I don't have the Blu Ray, just the DVD-A. Love this 5.1 mix. Especially when the strings kick in on track one. The whole album is amazing really, although rather short.

Just finished my first listen to the newly acquired Shoeless Joe DTS CD....pretty good sound quality...very short album...can't put my finger on who they sound like...pretty good songs...reminds me a lot of a regional band type of flavor...the kind that plays in upscale clubs...

All this recent talk about Breezin and George Benson forced me to bring THIS out and dust it off and give it a spin....back in the day I was fascinated with Al Jarreau...what a unique style he has...

I've played this disc for numerous skeptics, & they all love it
Plays great in my Acura TL/ELS system; it's faux surround; (Dolby Digital), but who cares
Just crank up Taxman, & you'll be a believer!

Of everything that SW has done this is my favourite.

Dig (DVD-A; Boz Scaggs; mixed by E. Scheiner). Lots of air on many of these songs - slow beat; minimal number of instruments. I don't have anything that sounds like this album. Just new to my collection. Very nice to have.The fidelity on a couple of the songs is messed up but there is still enough here to satisfy.

Back in the day I saw Al at the Fox Theater in Detroit and it was a wonderful concert. A unique style indeed.

You've probably figured it out by now but I believe the disc is George Harrison's Live In Japan. It must be a hybrid SACD. Now I'll have to give it a spin on the way to work, if I can find it.

I just listened to the Anne Murray dualdisc I'll be Seeing You with a DVDA side. It is just wonderful and so well recorded. The price has dropped again to under $3 on Amazon and anyone still looking for a copy should grab one. It was up to $43 before.

Warning: It took me multiple attempts before I was finally shipped the DualDisc...kept dealing with listings that claimed to be selling one but shipped the standard CD.

This happens a lot on amazon...and not just with Dual Discs...it happens on SACD's too...they send you the regular CD..
