How does that one sound?

It's a mixed bag...I was lucky and got a used copy for $14..but it was recorded in a strange way...some songs were recorded on stage....some in a backroom rehearsal space..on a tour bus...some in a Holiday Inn ROOM...I'm not kidding...the whole concept was supposed to be about a band on the road...hence all the strange locations to record from..READ THIS...I bought it because I love the title song and the price was right...if I were giving it a grade it would be either a weak 7 or strong 6...knowing you like I do I would say to pass on it...

OK, thanks.

B-b-b-but what about "The Road" where it starts off all intimate and then opens up into the live version. Neat enough in stereo but gorgeous in surround, there's some magical moments on this one, I got goosebumps the first time I heard The Load Out/Stay in 5.1.. it's not a whiz bang surround mix but it's perfect for the material imho.

Add to that the sound quality on the 5.1 is just exceptional. I love this one and after all the delays from the DVD-A's first mention its a minor miracle it ever made it out in surround at all..!

I'll second that, doesn't do it for me, no offense intended. Not a priority unless you're a fan and can get it at a very good price and it seems a bit pricey.

Kodo Mondo Head SACD, got this one earlier in the week. I only had a chance to give it a quick listen then and thought someone was backing in and out of the driveway on Berimbau Jam, some funky low frequency effect. Anybody know what it is? I like it, big sound here.

I just got it this week too. 2 plays from start to finish so far. I noticed some stuff out of my sub on at least one track that really surprised me - I didn't realize my sub could sound that good.

Do any of you guys have this one? The Best Of Mickey Hart DVD-A?

I got it a few years ago and kinda remember it being pretty good, it seems to still be out there for decent money too.

Home sick...feeling and sounding like a couple of miles of bad road..slept til 1 PM...decided to listen to some LOUD surround (some upstairs neighbor has had a never ending session of drilling and hammering for several weeks now)

PT- Lightbulb Sun DVD-A
PT- The Incident DVD-A

PF- TER BluRay

I'm sure my neighbors are remembering my family- screw them and their loud children that they don't know how to raise...and the ahole with their neverending drilling.....bitch PLEASE!!!!

I know how you feel Kap'n. My partner and I have been putting up with condo construction across the street for 2 years. A few weeks ago the new construction beside the building being finished is now starting to blast the bedrock for the foundation. I haven't been able to anticipate daytime listening sessions in 2 years, and if the last 2 years are any indication, I am gonna be p***ed for another 2. After all this, we lose the view of our city that we paid for and the sunlight. I won't play any good vinyl in the daytime as the explosions are felt in our 14th floor unit and my cartridge feels it too.:howl

Oh THAT REALLY SUCKS!!!
So sorry for you... maybe it's time for you to move????
Since I don't have the money nor the will to BUY a place, we have that advantage...
My previous place was a poorly constructed new building in which the sound system faced the STREET, so I was NEVER listening to the stuff the way it should be (not counting the 6 dogs that lived 2 floors above me and barked and howled every day SEVERAL times a day).

Regarding the view, that's the clincher for me....we lived in Madrid City in a shitty but "interior" top floor (2rd floor)until 2008 , which was when they built an apt building that robbed us of our view to the Mountain Range....after that we KNEW we had to get out of there....

The Cardigans - Long Gone Before Daylight
&
Cowboy Junkies - Whites Off Earth Now

Both these albums get repeated listens for me.
