I hear Postie's pretty busy this time of year  but its worth the wait! my fingers are on the 10 too and I've only heard it once! "Chatfield Manor" is epic!

I'm a Keneally fan for years, so I was really surprised that a surround mix of his classic is coming to us.

All I can say is, that this has been a wonderful surround-year for me!

really, considering the state of the music biz in general, it's nothing short of a minor miracle the surround mixes we've had!

Steven Wilson is virtually a one-man industry churning out one superb surround mix after another.. Hawkwind's Warrior, JT Benefit and XTC are just superb but really it's hard to think of a duff mix, he's so good at it!

Then there's the lovely surprises of Elliot Scheiner's 461 OB and Moondance -- awesome hearing those two at last! :D

I must say I passed the "Strength"-Box, as I am not that big E.C. maniac.
But I buyed the Layla-Box. So this will be enough for me I think.
I also have Boulevard on SACD.

Elliot Scheiner is still my #1, but I would love to hear new 5.1 stuff from him.

Listening now to: Aerosmith - Toys SACD!
How I love the titletrack!

I personally like the 70's Quad mix better, but this is one of the very few times that a modern mix is almost as good as its 70's Quad mix....

You can seldom go wrong with "Classic" (drugged) 'Smith...

Listening to now...
KC "Red" BluRay!!!

I was just listening and watching the New Year's concert from the Vienna Philharmonic, conducted by Daniel Barenboim....as always , spectacular.

Great surround mix, they even showed the "Recording Studio"/Sound Room, which had a Surround Setup with some yummy speakers in the rears -in an almost Quad setup...

I dispute the "as always". Last year's concert was tedious and lack lustre. Hopefully the change of conductor will have improved things, it's recorded and I'll be watching it this evening.

Well, I didn't catch last year's, and I always enjoy it because ...well I'm a sucker for Waltzes and Polkas played in a beautiful setting and lovely ballet...thei year's was better than the one from 2 years ago, if only to see Barenboim's having fun conducting (and his quite "unorthodox" way of doing so)...

Anyway, New Year's Day is usually rough on my brain, so , as far as "mindless entertainment" goes, this is up there...

This year's was very good, watched it in the evening with my parents.

Deep Purple (or "Dip Parpel" as they say here in España)
"Machine Head" DTS-DVD 96/24 Quad to 4.1 by Peter Mew in 2012 from the boxset....not bad....
