Never heard of Mind Transplant being remixed for 5.1 anywhere other than mentions here - @Quad Linda where did you get this info?
Another major HIT of deja vu on this subject (last year perhaps) I’m not happy because here out west the winters are too damn warm! Bad for gardening because the little destructive bugs overwinter and cause major problems. We’ve already had many days in the sunny 70’s; spring has sprung a couple weeks ago! I guess you just can’t please this bunch hereUh, yes my man...we're so lucky to be here in Illinois...snow and all. We have the exact same thing here in east central. Coming down right now still.
I'll join you with my favourite Brandy, Pups.Another major HIT of deja vu on this subject (last year perhaps) I’m not happy because here out west the winters are too damn warm! Oh well, another tumbler of Cognac and a splash of Mary and the boys, should do the trick- on the rocks of course
Cannot get enough of this one

But still young at heart ❤
Sorry for getting back to y'all late. Thankfully, we don't have any Covid issues. Still, I've had another Dr. canceling an appt. I've mentioned my "Twilight Zone" Dr./injection issues here. So, I'm scrambling over that and a husband who is having health issues. And I'm cooking 3 meals a day, etc. Not complaining, just saying. Bored? I'm far busier than usual.
OK, Miind Transplant in 5.1 on DVD-A. No one wishes for this more than me. My posts from 2017 on Mouzon's passing (RIP) & 2009 (link below) mention that it was rumored. Was it ever mixed or test pressed? Truly, I have no idea. I made it clear that it wasn't definite.
If anyone has contacts at Universal, I suggest you inquire there. They now control/own the Capitol/EMI and Blue Note masters.
Upon reading Steely Dave's and Adam's posts, I wracked my brain trying to recall when/where I had heard that. It was 15-20 years ago, guys. So, I spent an hour searching on line for any clues when I first read Dave's post. I've no more time to devote to further research.
What I found was that Adam posted it as being either RUMOURED or announced in a May 2014 SH post: Audio Fidelity 5.1 SACD - Coming Soon?
I had posted as SUPPOSEDLY in a QQ post from 2009: Quad LP/Tape Poll - Eleventh House with Larry Coryell: Introducing [SQ/Q8]
A few weeks ago, I shared something with a store manager friend. I had heard reliably the Governor of Illinois would be issuing a stay-at-home order. It didn't happen and it seemed I was rumour mongering. That was Tuesday. That Friday, it happened. We found out it would be announced that Friday at 3 PM. We got that update at 1PM Friday from the person who broke the story, a close friend. No rumour, just pushed back three days. Within minutes of that update, every news source in town had reported it.
Hazarding a guess, I had probably heard it from one of many friends in the record business. I was friends with three of the four Jazz dept managers in the Chicagoland Tower stores. One was an understudy to jazz drummer Barrett Deems (RIP).
The owner of the Record City stores was a good friiend and former WCFL jock/program director. Jimmy P Staggs (RIP) passed in 2007, so it could have been him. I'm sure it was when DVD-A's were released regularly, probably early 2000's.
Bob Koester, founder and (then) owner of Delmark Records & Jazz Record Mart or one of his employees may have mentioned it. Koester and I have attended Jazz Fest together. A curmudgeon with a vast wealth of knowledge. Perhaps it was Jim, who did his ordering now does so at another record store. They are still in business, but closed for the duration. PHOOEY! I still have lots of friends/former clients in the record business. Others aren't in the business any more.
To recall the when/where from 15-20 years ago is quite a tall order. Sorry!
I've had little time for QQ, other than giving likes on my phone during a smoke break. If I'm absent here, I'm just busy, not in crisis or peeved. Sorry guys...
