Cornelius - Sensurround
Phenomenal surround mix and and an incredibly unique album. This is about as playful/aggressive as it gets while also having visual representation of all of the audio. It's challenging but also very fun. This album is similar to his previous album but is maybe a bit less cohesive and a bit more experimental. The videos are pretty similar, and some are pretty stunning if you're into animation/editing.

He/they did a tour in 2008 for the album that was also pretty great. Incredible drummer. Live sample here.

That is excellent! I love it...can we find any way to purchase such music? In surround I mean?

A 'super session' indeed! Nice selection of music. This morning I started out with Rick Wakeman "Six Wives" and continuing with

Opeth - Pale Communion (BD-A)

Nice album, Brett with great use of surrounds.

Are you a Ryuichi Sakamoto fan? Just ordered this SACD from from CDJapan (limited edition; they only have 2 copies left): http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/product/COGQ-87

A 1996 electronica, chill out, jazz fest. AFAIK stereo, only, but have always wanted some of his fantastic music in hi res. I'm sure it will decode well in PLII or the equivalent.

Today's a DO NOTHING Day. A good day to just :chill Glad the holidays are finally OVER!

Good grief. The concerts on this BD are just about as bonkers as the album mix!
With the added benefit of seeing what part each dude is playing.

Yes, even though the quality of the live show audio is not quite on par with the studio album, seeing what each member is playing makes the inclusion of those filmed concerts absolutely necessary and a huge plus in the THRAK box. :)

Yeah, the sound isn't as clear as the album, for sure. Makes sense, as you're in a concert hall and the mics pick up all kinds of bleed and stuff.
Still, the mix of the concerts is Ma Friggin' diskRETE, homey!!! Good stuff. Even the EPK and the Road Movies are in HD Master 5.1!
I still need to listen to AttackaThrak and the other stuff on BD1 sometime.

Yeah, besides the studio album surround mix, AttackaThrak and the EPK are my favorite things on the Blu-Ray discs. The Road Movies don't really do it for me, but I'm glad they were included nonetheless. :)

Any idea where the music for them is from?

It's all previously unreleased material from some of their earliest rehearsals in 1994. It's all up-mixed to surround, which is definitely one of the reasons why I don't care for it that much in comparison to almost everything else on the Blu-Rays.

Looks good, Ralph. I'll check around for it. There are tons of Japanese artists in the stores here. Who knows? I might get lucky with a sale. At any rate, it's a good excuse to stretch my legs. There's not much going on over here, either. Traditionally, Jan. 1-3 are holidays. It's a time for silly New Year's TV shows and eating.

I've got Popshop's recommended Cornelius - Five Point One (DVD) on now. The video is old school DVD, but the surround mix is awesome. Tasteful electronic/acoustic jams.

Thanks for the review! Five Point One is a lot of fun. :51banana:

I'll definitely be picking this one up, too!

Is that the dvd-a ?

If so... You lucky devil !! It's sold used for minimum 100$ these days... There's only 1 track from Britney Spears I can stand from her whole career... Toxic. But what a track!!

If anyone has it and wants to part from it.. Lemme know ! :worthy
