Wonderful....

Well, I received my copy of the DTS 5.1 of Lyle Lovett (Joshua Judges Ruth). IIR, 4-EW told us how great it sounded...

Eh...and he's right. Wow! Killer fidelity, and good tunes as well. I know nothing about Lovett, but if this is what he sounds like...I'm impressed.

Concur. It's just swell!
Wasn't he married to a hottie?
This disc has been my only exposure to his music. With all the great stuff being thrown at us, I haven't been motivated to seek out any more Lovett, but I'm glad I have this one.

I've heard the surround mixes for both "I've Been to Memphis" and "North Dakota" as they were on a teacher's surround sound demo reel that he used to demonstrate surround sound mixing for one of my MTSU classes. They were good surround mixes as far as I recall, but they're not really demo worthy material IMO compared to so many other surround mixes that have since been released.
(Then again besides those two Lyle Lovett mixes, his demo reel consisted of one Toy Matinee song, one Randy Newman song, two songs from the Beatles' Love album, and FIVE Steely Dan/Donald Fagen songs, so that just goes to show you how behind the times he is on surround sound…) ;)
