One of my favorite releases of '15. (I missed out on the DVD-A.)

I'm so glad that Homecoming and Winelight got another go around...I had both of them already in a different format... but it opened up these titles to a whole new audience..I think I can speak for Adam... in saying that we would never get rid of Winelight..it's that special..

Oh you certainly can speak for me on that score!! I'm taking that sexymaphone surround record to the grave with me! She ain't comin' back no more!

Luther Vandross Dance With My Father DVD Audio. First time hearing this or any Luther work actually, I'm liking the vocals. I do love supporting vocals in the surrounds! Was concerned I wouldn't like it, no chance, it's good with nice discrete bits in the back. Oh man, Lovely Day thanks Mr. Withers.

Its that cat Thom Cadley again..!! :worthy

That song has taken on a new poignancy for my friends as they have lost their Dads in the last few years.. the album's got some stuff on it that isn't entirely my cup of tea but several tracks including the title track are just gorgeous and the surround is a delight.

Have you got any of Thom Cadley's other surround work?
I play the Alicia Keys / Songs In A Minor 5.1 ThomC did more than any of his others (and he has many great ones) but that is just downright fabulous and for me up there with the best of the best.

Yes Adam, I have the Alicia disc, two copies actually, you never know. I have to say though that I didn't specifically know Thom Cadley by name, thanks.

You're right getting multiples of Alicia! You never know! They certainly won't be making any more of those!

Yes, he is a member here and has done many great mixes, especially those in a modern day R&B/Pop crossover vibe.. but there are many more including some quite hard hitting rock, you probably have many already, they include things like..

Beyonce Dangerously In Love (SACD),
Destiny's Child - Survivor (SACD),
Destiny's Child - Destiny Fulfilled (DualDisc),
Vivian Green - A Love Story (SACD),
Kelly Rowland - Simply Deep (SACD),
Mary Mary - Incredible (SACD),
Jessica Simpson - In This Skin (DualDisc),
Mudvayne - The End Of All Things To Come (DualDisc),
Crossfade (DualDisc),
Nellie McKay - Get Away From Me (DualDisc),
Backstreet Boys - Never Gone (DualDisc),
Pink - I'm Not Dead (DualDisc),
Lamb Of God - Ashes Of The Wake (DualDisc),
Rod Stewart - It Had To Be You (DVD-A)...

Any favorites in the list?

Yeah.. I wonder WTH happened with that?

Probably a lot of record company and artist BS (all of which are outside of the control of ES and AF)
But maybe one day we'll still see another ES 5.1 mix (like "Toy Matinee") appear as an AF SACD. (I really want some of the Steely Dan/Donald Fagen DVDAs reissued as SACDs too, but those particularly seem difficult for AF to get ahold of. Shame…)

Any favorites in the list?

As far as surround goes all of those I've heard (almost all, I don't remember Lamb Of God but that doesn't mean I haven't heard it and it could be good it's just my bad memory!) my favourites would be the lighter poppier material but that's just a personal thing; 2 x Destiny's Child, Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland, Mary Mary, Vivian Green, Pink, Jessica Simpson, Backstreet Boys.. they're all great surround!

Then again, Steve Wilson is NO Olivia Newton John. I really admire her DTS Entertainment LIVE album "One Woman's Live Journey" recorded and mixed (5.1) by Elliot Scheiner at the Taj Mahal in Atlantic City which basically contains all her hits. Well worth seeking out. And while we're on the subject of Olivia, they're also releasing a guilty pleasure of mine on BD~V, namely, Xanadu.....which is NO Citizen Kane (that's for sure).

I just added the DTS Entertainment's Back With a Heart to my collection and thanks for the heads up.

Thanks for the post about the live DVD-A. I managed to pick up a near-mint copy for just under $30.00. Great live 5.1 by E. Scheiner, and great content too, although personally I would swap out about 5 of the songs in the setlist...

An odd choice for a Blu-ray. May have to pick up that one.
