Had this one since release. I remember how I loved it when I got it. I don't listen to it enough. Seems it's not in style with all the Steve Wilson mixes blowing this one away. That said, the music is just spectacular and it really doesn't sound bad at all. I'm of the opinion that it just has to be played loud and you will be washed over with the top shelf music and playing.

In the end, I just wish it had a bit more bass. I know, I know. I guess what I mean to say is, I wish Moon's drumming was more focused and pronounced. He's such a beast. Still, you could not pry this fine release out of my hands with an axe. :)

This mix was approved by Pete Townsend. Being that he has hearing issues, I can understand that this may not be the most optimal mix, but you are correct this is a monumental work of art.

In the studio?

A little Blurb...
"Gary Reber was schooled in location recording as an assistant to the legendary Wally Heider and went on to produce recordings for Shelly Manne and Buddy Rich, among others. He has been recording Bernie’s shows regularly for the last few years, just getting ready to capture the band at its peak for this recording. He recorded this album live in concert at Joe’s Great American Bar and Grill in Burbank, to 96/24 digital and mixed it at Galaxy Studios in Belgium."
The place could use some form of post-Covid remodeling, lol.
