Thanks BK would never have guessed that!

Sorry about that, I did not know that the CD 'Carved In Stone', was released in 'Circle Of Surround'

As were the other other 2 DMP releases.
DMP Big Band - DMP Big Band Salutes Duke Ellington (1997, CD) | Discogs
DMP Big Band - Glenn Miller Project (1996, CD) | Discogs

I don't have copies of these as CD releases either, only the DTS versions.

It quotes this:
This disc is fully compatible with all matrix surround systems. CS also enhances the soundstage of 2-channel stereo.

Never heard about this before.

I expect some learned fellows will shed some light on it.
Circle Surround was yet another matrix decoding system. It was an outgrowth of SRS. There was a stand alone decoder and some receivers (Kenwood and Marantz) had a Circle Surround decoder/synthesizer built in. I found it to be an excellent system for synthesizing multi-channel music from a two-channel source.

Haven't listened since this came out five years ago - I remember being all excited for the DG reissue series and sad it flamed out. Really good, both fidelity and performance - performance is surprisingly fast. Surround isn't super-discrete but more than the average classical recording, the surrounds are used effectively but not constantly for discrete information.
