Tears For Fears-The Seeds Of Love. SW remix. Released 10/09/2020. 5.1 BD-A 24/48. DR's are 12, 13's, 14.
I just went through this releases surround poll here on QQ and was happily suprised that there are 80 posts as of this writing all posts are review related, gives me hope that we know how to do it.

What does this mean? "DR's are 8, 9, 10's, 11's, 12's".
So it is just my little style of giving information, that some may like and others could care less, but my signature.
DR is dynamic Range, how much or less compression is applied Wikipedia The Loudness Wars. Generally speaking, but not always true, the higher the number the less compression, therefore a better listen, usually.
My style is to list the DR's for each track, not in order. The plurals are multiple tracks and the singular are 1 track. So if I do DR's are 12, 13's, 14, there is one track at 12 and one track at 14, all the rest of tracks are 13's.
Certain genre's have better DR's older Jazz, to Metal which is generally horrible.
This is a site you can go to anytime and plug in your own special tastes Loudness Data Base.
Hope that helps and thanks for asking.

Need to take a little power nap before the Super Bowl, Go Bengals.
So, I thought Yes-Tales from Topographic Oceans might help with the snooze.

If I played that disc, I’d snooze right past the Super Bowl. 😂

I think this is the best of the Draper/Mansun surround experiences thus far - lead vocals are in all five channels, but there are plenty of discrete elements in the rears (percussion, synths, backing vocals, sound effects, etc). Sound quality could definitely be better though, the louder passages have that 'cluttered' quality from too much compression.

Just played this DVD -V release 2004, recommended in a previous thread as good surround DVD’s… Well completely blown away with the DTS5.1 remastering of INXS Greatest Hits - Outstanding Surround play!
Purchased for less than $50 on EBAY 2DVD. Also recommended was QUEENS’s Greatest Hits Vol.1 and Vol.2 picked up for around $35 ea as new! Magnificent quality again DTS 5.1 Surround! Any others out there??

was it mixed by the same fella?

No specific 5.1 credit in the book, just a generic mixing credit for Paul 'P-Dub' Walton (who did all the other Mansun/Draper 5.1's). I haven't heard Attack Of The Grey Lantern, but this is a lot better than the 5.1's of Six and Spooky Action.

Grey Lantern is more of the same approach to 5.1 music mixing as Six and Spooky. glad you're enjoying the new one more than the others. don't think i'll be playing any of them much down the line tbh. probably kindest to leave it at that 🙂
