Saw him a little over a year ago as he toured for the anniversary of Reckless. No one opened for him, and he never left the stage all night. When the band took a break, he went into his acoustic set. He still has it, one of the best concerts I've ever been to :)

That's good to read - Bryan still got his energy :)

First full listen-through of "The Fugitive" by Tony Banks in surround. Will give my impressions on it in the Tony Banks thread after finishing the full listen. :)

I'm still getting settled into my new apartment and I've just received a fridge (finally, after 2 weeks without one) and a dining room set (all second hand). The brand new King Size mattress will be delivered next Tuesday (a dream about to come true). I'm having a Billy Joel festival whilst I'm arranging things little by little.

Streetlight Serenade SACD
The Stranger SACD
52nd Street SACD
The Essential Video Collection DVD-V (for the tracks not featured on the SACDs)

Life is good. :music

You might not have had a fridge...but you certainly had a sharp razor(I like the new look(y))

ya know, a good portion of Billy Joel's catalog is/was at one time or another available in surround.

Piano Man (SQ, Q8)
Turnstiles (SQ, Q8)
Streetlight Serenade (SACD, SQ, Q8)
The Stranger SACD
52nd Street SACD

I wish more catalogs were like that.

Good to hear you have your priorities in order Simon. Sound System before fridge and a bed! :)

Peter Frampton - FCA!35 Tour blu ray DTS-HD Master 5.1. Love the version of "Lines On My Face" here, a favourite song of mine from more youthful days :) Don't play this disc often enough....

I'm feeling the same way Lute...I listened to part of it yesterday and liked what I heard...the funny part is people complain if the songs are "too well known" and they have heard them too many times..OR they complain if they never heard the songs and aren't comfortable with the content...

I have to admit that I sometimes do that. ;)
With these older albums, I find I enjoy the "fillers" as much (or even more than) the hits.

And... The best part is being able to listen to ALL the songs in immersive surround sound.

Back from the hardware store where I've just purchased a 10' step ladder. My ceiling are 11 feet high so I had no choice but to get one of them bad boys.

Continuing my long playlists day. Bob Dylan is the lucky chosen one for tonight.

Live From Abbey Road - Best of Season One. Various artists, blu ray Dolby TrueHD 5.1. Photo is David Gilmour (with Richard Wright in the back ground) as they play On An Island. Two of the coolest things in music, David's black strat being held up by Jimi Hendrix's guitar strap ;)

How is the the surround sound on the "OMD - Architecture & Morality Live DTS-HD Master 5.1" ?
Is it front centric like most concerts.

peter

Quite good for a concert. Crowd noise of course, but also lots of music in the surrounds sans vocals, they're up front. Nice mix for a concert I thought.
