Alison Krauss - New Favorite (SACD 5.2)

This album which was released in 2008 is NO LONGER AVAILABLE @ CDJapan, has no listing on Discogs and one recently sold on ebay for US$86.65 + $20 expedited s/h from Japan [like new]!

Wish I could get my hands on one.
I got mine for 13 dollars excluding shipping so...try using that proxy method I talked about earlier! Hopefully you'll find some still sitting on Yahoo Auctions.

Just arrived, still waiting on the replacement disc, I was expecting a bigger box for some reasonView attachment 95502
It took about 6 days to get my replacement disc. Don't expect any emails from Universal, I never got any confirmation and after asking for an update, I still didn't get a reply. But I did receive the replacement disc and it was packaged pretty good.

When I lived in Sosua in the Dominican Republic, I would play this disc loudly enough for the local Dominican birds to hear, and begin singing in response. I would assume the native birds would be unfamiliar with the songs of the DTS birds, and sang their own songs to establish territory protocols. It was fun to hear the chatter.

Mats Bergström, Reich: Electric Counterpoint (Atmos MKV).
https://immersiveaudioalbum.com/pro...-mats-bergstrom-5-1-flac-dolby-atmos-mkv-mp4/Pat Metheny's iconic performance of this Steve Reich piece is the one that everybody knows--but of course it's not in surround!

There are a number of underwhelming or downright disappointing immersive mixes of Reich, whose works--you'd think--would be made for surround. But this one is emphatically not a letdown; in fact I'd put it right up there with percussionist Kuniko Kato's Kuniko Plays Reich. You can buy a 2012 Blu-Ray containing 5.1 mixes of Bergström's performances of Reich's "Electric Counterpoint," "Nagoya Guitars," and "2 x 5" (together with remixes of the first two titles plus a piece by Bergström's bandmate Edda Magnason dedicated to Reich) from Naxos Direct or Amazon (reviewed here), but the high-res download of the new Atmos mix of "Electric Counterpoint" is available only from IAA. Worth it.

Did I succeed in syncing the music videos from the Blu-Ray to the Atmos tracks? It was a bit of a tricky undertaking as the 5.1 & Atmos mixes aren't exactly aligned.

I haven't A/B'd them against the Blu-Ray, but they seemed just fine to me. (And Part III, I think, is the only video that has cuts that are rhythmically aligned with the "pulse"?)

Tito Puente, Goza Mi Timbal (MCh SACD).

Why isn't there more salsa in surround?! I mean...I know the Concord Picante stuff--which is long out of print and which Concord is just sitting on!--and then there's that VibraSON! Blu-Ray with a great Atmos mix by Michael Romanowski. But how 'bout some Ruben Blades and/or Willie Colon remixed for Atmos? Hey Warners! Hey Concord (which also owns the Fania library these days)! Are there no multitracks? Is there no will or imagination?
