Very under-rated 1970 album, brilliant

Billy Cobham LIVE IN ROME [Tweedle Music/DTS 5.1] Make NO mistake. This is not akin to Cobham's classic fusion album Spectrum but exquisite straight ahead jazz recorded LIVE at Rome's Teatro Castello with sidemen including Ernie Watts on Woodwind, Shelia Escovedo on percussion and an astounding Brian Bromberg on upright bass.

As a lot of DTS recordings are encoded at a low level, at 82 db on my new system this disc has never sounded more tactile with enormous bass and a soundstage which totally enveloped my listening room front to back and even sides ... all self amped Meridian speakers!

Cobham's drum kit is huge and one felt that they were physically present in that venue boppin' along to what I consider another brilliant set from the seasoned drummer.

Digitally Recorded via a Mitsubishi X880 32 track recorder

VERY highly recommended
