I’m only on the first track and very much like how the low end is presented. I always felt the original mix was too bass heavy. It sounds more balanced now. I’ll see if the rest of the album stays the same.
SQ Quadraphonic--The Spectacular Sound of Four Channel Stereo. Near mint for $1.00. Worth it just to hear "Me and Bobby McGee" in quad. The SMv3 did an excellent job decoding it. Also includes Santana's "Black Magic Woman", but I have the Sony Japan SACD.
The O'Jay's Ships Ahoy
Great great album on DVs 3 albums on 2 SACDs.
DV produces a superb product great mastering and sound and care to avoid mistakes not just a pass thru of the tapes like a few other vendors.
Rabih Abou~Khalil THE CATCUS OF KNOWLEDGE [ENJA Records/MLP DVD~A 5.1/44.1/24] Also contains a bonus video in stunning DTS discrete 5.1
Played on my new system, the sonics and absolutely astounding discrete soundstage aretreasures to behold. Comes in a sumptuous hard bound Digibook with glossy insert. The musicianship is nothing short of stunning and this should serve as a blueprint for all future Jazz recordings in surround. Has a decided Middle Eastern feel. With guest star Antonio Hart on alto saxophone.
Here's one from DV I don't remember when I listened last:
Eugene Ormandy Conducts Ives Holidays Symphony and #2
Sold insurance by day wrote music at night and stuffed it in a drawer.
