Todd Rundgren Initiation RSD 2025

Great news for anyone who likes the album Initiation by Todd Rundgren. It will finally be released in a 2LP set. My only question is… will it be speed corrected. Side 2 was sped up to enable fitting 36 minutes on side 2. I actually slowed it down to the speed it should be and it’s almost 38 minutes now. Maybe @ForagingRhino knows?? In any case it’s mine in RSD this year.

The first 4 tracks on Side 1 were sped up as well. And the bass was rolled off significantly.

Has this ever been corrected on CD? I have a 2-disc set with this and Faithful, but never noticed any difference in pitch between that and a promo LP I have. Dreaming of a surround release for this.

It’s an erratic LP, but the best tracks on side 1 are probably my absolute favourite Todd moments.

Darn! I thought it was a surround release. Initiation would be spectacular in surround.

Could be that after having approved of speeding up the tracks and that being the only way anyone has ever heard them, that Todd prefers the album this way now.
