This one came in today.

I know it seems like I'm repeating myself, but this is another stellar Quad mix and fabulous release by the Audio Fidelity Crew. This is the first time I own music from this group and it's a nice change of pace. :)

Now on to this, by my hero Frank Zappa. I'm a drummer, but Zappa is my favorite artist.

After listening to Yoshimi, this seems like a much more tame surround mix, but I guess that could be said about almost any other surround mix. ;)

The Black Crowes - Freak n' Roll - BD DTS HD Master 5.1

In a band I used to be in, the lead singer and bass player went to see The Black Crowes, about 10 years ago. They said that somehow, they got back stage after the show and my old lead singer Blake told Chris Robinson that our band played 'Remedy'. He said 'Really?, so do we!'

Awesome! TBC are among my favorite groups. Sucks they broke up. I loved them more and more, the more hillbilly they got.

How is it Edison?? Saw them live way back in their prime

A little follow-up, Snoodles. Ultimately, this is a pleasant enough listen. He gets a little religious, but not in a preachy way. Just sharing his faith, I'd say. Bluh, but oh well.
Musically, I think he's a bit hampered trying to do it all himself. This record lacks the heaviness and punch that made Coil my favorite Toad record.
This is solidly singer/songwriter.
The mix. Well, it is very safe. There is some distinct stuff going on in the rears, but I'd say they are under-utilized. Not big stereo, but the majority of the music comes from the front.
