Going to start off the eve with some Van Morrison, then the Danesque live disc from the trio.

btw Jon Herrington's guitar solo on Reelin In The Years is spot on.:D

Friday evening Quad music.

Yes, I'm loving this disc and showing off my MC 2100. :D

Yes you NEED moondance...it's superb...love that disc...

It's just so damn expensive, and it never goes on sale and is rarely available used. I honestly don't care about the 4 CDs, I just want the surround, but I'm about to pull the trigger for about $41, but I keep telling myself that it'll be cheaper eventually. I've almost bought it many times.

It's never going to be "on sale"...I'm surprised you could get it for that price...you wait much longer and it won't be available at anywhere near that price...

Guess there's no bonus tracks on this? Have to order the full box set to get "Don't You Forget About Me"? Well, that sucks, but the album sounds pretty good!

I'm still puzzled as to why they have failed to include the music videos on the Blu-Ray like they have done with the DVD-A in the box sets. At least that way you'll have the video for "Don't You Forget About Me" in stereo to enjoy. :)

Totally agree, RT....but then they couldn't emblazon PURE AUDIO at the top of the front jacket. Ever wonder why BD~A failed..........TOO Little, TOO Late!

Well, I've heard "Don't You" in stereo enough times to last me a lifetime. OTHO, this is my first play through of this album. "Oh Jungleland" is killing me!

And let me add...I don't recognize the name of the 5.1 engineers on this one, but it's a good mix! There is more than just SW out there!

Ah, yes, but here's where it gets a little interesting.
The vast majority of the HFPA Blu-Ray audio releases are just that, nothing but audio.
However, there is that reissue on Blu-Ray of "Slippery When Wet" by Bon Jovi, which does include the album's music videos as originally featured on the Dualdisc release, so there is actually precedent for including videos on a Universal HFPA release! Too bad they haven't done that more often though… :(

Glad you're enjoying the mix! It was created by Ronald Prent and supervised by Charlie Burchill (who is in the band).
Prent is also the one who mixed "New Gold Dream" in surround sound, which will be reissue at the end of July this year.
(Both of these mixes were originally released in 2005, so I'm not sure what Prent has been up to lately.)

:)

Listening now to Blu Ray 5.1 24/96 DTS-HD of the new release Pet Sounds. Very discrete, but at first listen a little "tinny" but I just finished really super good stereo SACD's so i think my ears haven't settled in? Menu is a little stubborn. Maybe I should go back to King Curtis, Live At The Fillmore West, in RBCD 16 bit stereo and I might be happier.

Can you compare the "Pet Sounds" Blu-Ray vs the original DVDA to determine if it's exactly the same?

Late (my body clocks' been totally out of whack the last couple of years.. and shows no sign of getting back in sync.. imbibing stimulants too late at night or something, I dunno)

I've screwed up my body clock as well, working graveyard shifts, ok, but to make matters worse I've been doing 12 hour GY shifts. I have gained weight and feel tired all the time, sleep and eating is way off course. I'll get some drugs to help me out with things. I have actually been stone cold clean and not even touched weed in 4 months. Mainly because I want to change jobs and they sometimes drug test in my industry. Can you imagine listening to Spectrum in 4.0 and not being able to even have a puff?

Oh and to top it off I had a fall and dislocated both my shoulders, and have been recovering from that. Life just gets harder as it goes, and not easier, at least for me.

Well I hope you haven't fallen into the trap of enjoying old Quads too much Simon and don't expect too many more from the reissue labels these days it'll only make you selfish  ;)

That is why we have QR conversions to DVD-V, those really take the edge off of it when labels shut down the release schedules. Once AF goes three months without a surround release, I'll be digging out my conversions again, praise god.

Blimey, I hope things get better for you asap.
