An absolutely fantastic year (but there are other years just as great).

My 1970 year of surround has the largest listing of surround.:51banana:

Corrosion of Conformity - America's Volume Dealer - DVD-A 5.1
Kinda like Nickleback, to me, but not nearly as annoying. Just simple, very LOUD rock. This f#@ker is mastered HOT!
**Had to turn down my sub by about 75%!**

Mark Knopfler Shangri-La DVD-A: I love this disc, clear and crisp, nice highs and lows and while not aggressive, it is true surround This is one where I keep the on screen display up because the lyrics force me to sing along with Mark who is strong in the center. All windows closed of course. Don't crash the ambulance whatever you do.

One of those songs features a hero from my home town. (y)

Probably my favorite Steven Wilson album, including Porcupine Tree and all of his other side-projects, and I really love Porcupine Tree and some of his side-projects.

Way back in 1972 I was working for the London Borough Of Harrow. There was a small market maybe one day each week. And from that market I bought the Surfs Up LP by The Beach Boys. I can't remember where I bought Sunflower, in London somewhere.

I bought both on CD and again as 24 bit 192 kHz FLAC downloads. But they all pale into insignificance compared with the AP SACDs that arrived chez moi an hour or so ago.

Somebody please send Sam Okell and Giles Martin on a fact finding visit to Pluto or Jupiter or further afield if possible and get Kevin Gray to master all The Beatles catalogue in surround, stereo and mono.

If you want Kevin Gray to master the Beatles catalogue in surround, someone has to MIX it in surround first…
Oh and BTW, I have no issues with the current Beatles remasters from 2009. Overall, they sound just fine to me.

Chicago Quadio blu-ray, Chicago Transit Authority: In the sweet spot listening in direct mode, subwoofer off and volume reduced given the current domestic situation. Still makes for a fine mix and fidelity, so satisfying. Oh and Free Form Guitar is outrageous.

Just listened to The Beach Boys SACD (which is not advertised as multi-channel) of Sunflower. We all now know there is some sort of multi-channel layer there....
It does default to multi-channel in my OPPO....it's not discreet at all really. More like expanded stereo I guess...but still, not bad honestly. I then listened to the 2 channel tracks and I like those much better. No harm - I would have bought this regardless and it's good. :)

Pete Namlook & Klaus Schulze - The Dark Side Of The Moog XI (DTS CD)

Man I love those Fax DTS CDs!

I think I was around 11 the first time I heard about Fax machines... was wondering how the heck paper sheets could fold (or roll) themselves to travel through telephone wires.. :slap: @: But a shredding Fax.. how cool! :D

Listening to Ravel - La Valse (Tacet)

needed to "reset" my ears..
