I can't find a DTS CD listing for Toy Matinee to save my life this morning! Not on Amerzon or Ebay. I only own a few DTS CDs, but if I bought them they must have been at a reasonable price. But maybe the hard to find ones get pricey? It's not in my blood to gouge anybody though. I do like the music enough to keep the album in rotation. For 80's music it is rather organic and acoustic, surprisingly.

You don't have to gouge anyone, keep it as a "trade"(y)

Baggeh no prophet!
"When prophets trade for profit wise men go insane!"

I didn't really look. Is the DTS CD actually worth more???

Prophet's Song you say?

"Woah oh,
listen to the man,
listen to the man,
listen to the man..
listen to the mad man.."
(on this occasion, the mad man across the water would be, umm, little old me.. )

Yes Baggy (sorry for that detour.. wast it fun! :D ) the DTS CD of Toy Matinee is rare.. it was deleted not long after release and replaced with the DVD-A version, as DTS were keen to get into that game asap
("trust me, I know things about pigeons, Lily..")

There's no listing because its not just slightly rare, or really rare.. it's 44.1k 20-bit rare.. I've been trying to tell you in my own special bus roundabout way, Baggykins, take it from me baby its F*****G MEGA RARE!!!! :yikes :nuke :worthy :violin

I always felt like the SACD was severely lacking in bass....do you sense that? Does the DTS have more bass?

Possibly.

I think it is worthy of a comparison.

btw

Sorry for the "slanty" "blurry"pics.I think I need more or better light and the "slanty"......well I was drinking the devil's bathwater., ok.

Cheers! I'll drink to that Dr. Fizzer! :beer2

Ps. Any difference in the bass between the DTS and SACD would make me immediately suspicious its maybe either a setup issue or that SACD cock up with that beastly -10dB LFE level thing going on..?

Works for me.. not so good for the pig

Ok, who's up for crackling with apple sauce..? :p

Sounds deelish, but it's too hot here, so it's hot dogs 4 supper tonite.!

And some more Jethro Tull-Aqualung (blu-ray).It's nice to have the correct tracks/takes in 5.1 , Mother Goose, Locomotive Breath, My God, etc with the excellent guitar solos.Absent on the quad mix.
Now I thought I read somethingy years back that the original masters were missng when they went quad, and some tracks had to be re-recorded by the band in the studio ?
Well I don't know 4 sure ...only Ian or de band knows .
I am happy with those 5.1 mixes, though.:D

I once visited my ancestral village in Portugal. They chased a giant pig down their main (only) street, butchered it in the square, while the children ran around, then served it up for dinner in my honor. I was a little traumatized! lol But it was tasty...

Back to a fave of mine. The mix is out of this world. Perfect balance between the orchestra and just enough ambience. Man this sounds good!

In the words of Porky Pig;
