Rush Signals DVD-A (ordered the BD)..saw them in this tour both nights in the Spectrum....

Great article;

And having a Weltenberger Kloster Beer and Tullemore Dew shots...THAT kind of night...
CHEERS!

That Rolling Stone article is amazing! It's about time they were featured on the cover!

One tidbit I'll throw out there for those who are interested is that RUSH have been performing a never before played/never played in a long time song from "Signals" at some of their sound checks on the R40 tour.
To find out what song it is, just search on YouTube. There's definitely evidence of it out there.
Happy hunting! :)

You know, getting a nice surprise release like Streetlife Serenade makes me wish for many more unexpected titles. Sort of fun to get these little gems. I wonder what they have up their sleeve in the next half year?

I think I'm going to end up really liking that disc...most of those songs are new to me and I'm already liking them...it usually takes me some time with new material...but it's classic Billy Joel...it has inspired me to get Glass Houses and I will start to check out some of his other titles....I've always liked "ALL FOR LEYNA" and it sounds excellent on this disc...

Ship Ahoy, Ship Ahoy, Ship Ahoy, yeah.

The O'Jays. For such an instrumental piece, such a political album,I always found the lyric "yeah" in the album title track off putting. Here's why from the geek audiophile liberal tree hugging perspective: When you hear this song in particular, you're figuratively placed on a slave ship. Whips crack. Masts creek. When I heard, "yeah" it seemed out of place as a lyric in 5.1 SACD.

Noticed this album is hard to find. I bought it over fifteen years ago and it's no where to be found. Lost it for a month... FOUND! This is one of my favorite surround albums. Also, you get to see how Donald Trump perverted arguably the greatest bass line ever from For The Love of Money. Politics aside, this album crushes it in surround. Forgotten what it's ranked. Wonder if a website tracks it! Highly urge community to ask the powers of audio nerdoms, to put this on blu ray for the masses. It's an important album and the surround mastering is top notch.

This SACD contains not only Giovanni Battista Pergolesi's popular Stabat Mater arranged by Johann Adam Hiller, but also two beautiful choral works by Hiller himself. They are given lovely performances by the Stuttgart "Hymnus" boys choir, and solo voices for soprano, countertenor, tenor and bass. The early music ensemble Handel's Company conducted by Rainer Johannes Homburg provide excellent support.

The Rear channels are basically ambient, but they help this recording to beautifully capture the natural resonance of the voices and instruments in the Christuskirche in Stuttgart. The Center channel is properly used to create a full and detailed soundstage.

Here's a review in German... http://www.kulturradio.de/rezensionen/cd/2015/hiller-geistliche-werke.html

Let me just add that Pergolesi's work was used very nicely in the film Amadeus... https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=3-esvGwDHCY

Gonna try to find.... Peter Tosh, Legalize It.

It isn't in alphabetical order on my shelves, so, if not that, Steven Wilson. Shocker. It's taking me a bit to find.... Here it is. Legalize it!

I gave Magenta The Twenty Seven Club a spin on Monday and just couldn't get in to it, particularly Christina Booth's vocals. Now listening to Magenta Seven and enjoying it much more.

As far as I know, the only song from Signals that has never been played live is "Losing It", which I would love to see. I always assumed they never did it because it has an electric violin part on it that they might not be able to pull off live. I was hoping it might make its debut on the last tour when they had the string players, would have been an opportune moment to dust it off. They're not coming close to me this time around, but I may make a road trip to Boston or NYC if I can score a ticket.

You should definitely try to make it to Boston or NYC if you can get a ticket (good luck with that...) cause not only was this my favorite RUSH tour I've experienced, but there's a lot of talk that it's their last, so now's the time! I wrote a big review of the NOLA show for this forum, so check it out if you wish! :)

Had some CD-4 listening last night. Sounds really great most of the time but the sandpaper on loud passages still grates on my nerves lol

Venice Underground (DualDisc)

Pretty good discrete mix for some wild Electronica/Rock jams.
