So what's the story on that Scorpion's SACD? Is it supposed to sound good? Most SCORPS stuff doesn't sound that wonderful...unfortunately. Music excellent of course...

More people want it than there are copies I guess!? The old SACD (Supply And Crazy Demand) routine as usual.. :D

I considered buying it a year ago..it was a little over a $100 but I passed...not so much because of the price..but like Gos said...the Scorps discs usually suffer in the sound quality department...

It's a fun Multichannel SACD to own. But GOS is right.
"Moment of Glory" by the Scorpions on Multichannel SACD isn't a sonic standout like say the David Elias Multichannel SACDs and DSD Downloads. :)

Perhaps Audio Fidelity can consider a Multichannel SACD reissue of it at some point. (Send those emails to Marshall at AF and see).

Labelle -- Somebody Somewhere from Nightbirds. Sick album. The surround caused my sub to grow a groovy fro.

That's the 5.1 Label Group, part of Silverline (but a good part, many of their surround mixes are alright and some are excellent). Thank you for the info! I don't know how I missed this one!

I had a nagging feeling this was connected with Silverline. I would say this one is just alright in terms of the 5.1 mix. I mean the bass is heavy as I mentioned. And after listening more carefully, I can tell that much of the front speaker information is mirrored in the rears. But, it still is a fun mix and the music is good. The trademark guitar sound of Jane's Addiction is present. And there is simply a lot going on...for example with the female vocal and synthesizers. So, at those bargain basement prices, it's worth having... especially for fans of Jane's Addiction.

ah.. thanks for the info! (y)
I think I'll skip it for now, I've got to prioritise the Dollarini's this summer (and mediocre multichannel jobs are on the backburner now until the nights draw in!)

I hear ya. I've still got to do some catching up with all the multichannel/stereo releases. But... Venice Underground isn't bad or anything. It's just got some rough edges.
I'm enjoying it. It rocks!

Well, my CD-4 kick continues. Let's get weird. Jerry Reed Lord Mr. Ford. A rare one you don't see much of. Not even in stereo. I've always thought Reed as fun singer. Sort of like Miller. Can do the serious stuff but also has a great sense of humor.

That's a fun one. Love Jerry Reed. :)

Muse - The Resistance (DVD-V [dts])
So many bands on one album... :)
Both this record and mix definitely deserve real public release!

I agree! I remember being a young teen staying at my Grandparents house...and they would be playing Jerry Reed. On the other hand...I remember hearing Lawrence Welk as well. lmao...go figure. And a one and a two....

Paul McCartney - The Years (DVD-V [dts])
Disc two without the visuals - overall very good plus some tunes have really stellar mixes

A phenomenal disc with incredible surround mixes!
Only thing I still can't get over is why the hell would they include a live video of "Birthday", and yet there are NO videos on the DVD from "Driving Rain", not to mention there are also a few good videos left out from albums like "Flaming Pie", "Press to Play", and more?
But hey, 20 out of 21 on this 2nd DVD still makes it great for sure! :)

XTC - Nonsuch (BD-A)
Surround heaven! Wall-to-wall listening might seem a bit too much, but it can be pulled off!@:

Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers - Damn the Torpedoes (BD-A)
Closing time over here... Almost entirely happy with this one once the walls came down - there's much more going on in the rears than I've originally thought!
Great rehearsal space feel to this soundstage :smokin
