Deodato SACD- Also Sprach Zarathustra sounds fantastic... very discrete and groovy... I love when the horns come in from the left rear. This song reminds me of Chauncy Gardner!

Bruford - Seems Like a Lifetime Ago Box

Both surround mixes are great (y) Jakko did a fantastic job
One of a Kind is a longtime favorite of mine. The Sahara of Snow is a standout mix. There is a LOT going on in the 5.1 of this song.
Feels Good to Me is stellar too. there is a ton of separation, especially with all the keyboards

If you missed out on the 1st batch, don't hesitate to pre-order the new printing just announced. Highly recommended

Deodato Prelude/Deodato 2 SACD- Second time through... the musicianship is stellar... absolutely loving the guitar and drums. Great discrete mix. So many great songs!!! Favorites include "Also Sprach Zarathustra", "Baubles, Bangles & Beads", "September 13", "Nights in White Satin", "Super Strut" and "Rhapsody In Blue". A must have!!!

Ah, Chauncy Gardner. A brilliant film [Being There]. Life is like a Garden.........

Love the last scene in the movie when at the funeral of his billionaire benefactor, he breaks away from the mourners and literally walks on water. The Meek shall inherit the earth [I'm still WAITING].

Went with a bit of quad as well, last nite. :D

just picked this one up. Jim Hall-Live (QS) 96/24 CD. Used to have the vinyl but gave it away yrs ago. Still have a couple secret quads on the A&M/HORIZON label, though.

TYA probably my favorite band from late 60's thru the 80's would be a dream come true to have the Deram and Chrysalis years in surround, one release is such a tease.

A little snow here today...and so it begins:
New York Voices - Let It Snow SACD in 5.1

I like this album a lot, and I think it's generally underrated. The arrangements, performance, recording, and Scheiner's 5.1 mix are all good. It is musically more substantial than the many "phoned in" Christmas albums.

Listening to select works from Blackfield V and To The Bone. I like some/most of both, but think they’d be one awesome Steven Wilson album combined ;) both on blu ray in 5.1 pcm8DBCFEF3-EF31-4290-900F-A8A854280E04.jpg

RPWL - Wanted (5.1 Dolby Digital DVD)... I couldn't find a forum listing for this one, so I'll just post some notes here: Good, discrete surround mix, mostly static but at times has some panning effects. Fidelity is generally good, but gets a little distorted during the busy parts (especially some of the cymbals... something I've noticed with a lot of Dolby Digital stuff)... not enough to be distracting, though; this is one of the better sounding DD releases. The content is excellent musically: progressive rock heavily influenced by Pink Floyd; lyrically, it tends to get preachy with the band's atheistic message of "religion and god are evil" in every song (for this reason I don't listen to Christian albums, either, although I do like a couple of Stryper tunes!) I'd give this an 8 if I could vote on it. Good value at it's current price (comes with a poster, too).
