Oh.... I'll spin a few Xmas tunes later.

Last nite listened to Chucky Brown from Vince Guaraldi and probably do it once more along with some Xmas Tull , and Mannheim's Celebration.....but for starters some quad jazz fr RTF.

I think it might be a bit better than the DD 5.1 DVD , but I'll know later on today.

Should also, really listen to the SQ CD from "Boxed " as well......or the Columbia SQ lp....bot sh#t ! That's 4 versions. And we have trouble getting even ONE version from many artists.
GO FIGURE !!!

Blackfield V Blu Ray - I’ve really enjoyed this one more than the previous albums. DVDA dub played regularly in the car.

Deep Purple-Stormbringer. DTS DVD

This is an unusual type of quad-to-5.1 reissue fwiw. I find the centre ch rather too loud and prefer to hear the original 4ch version . So I put a big box over my centre to hear the quadrant as it was meant to be heard. The discs music may not be a big standout for Purple but this was a very good quad mix on CD-4 back when.

Futzing with the old quad is not always a good idea, and I hope they learned their lesson.

Whenever I rip a 5.1 disc sourced from a quad master, be it a Sony Japan SACD or one of these weird EMI DVD-Vs (Ten Years After, ELO No Answer, etc), I ALWAYS toss the center and LFE and store it as FLAC 4.0.

My listening setup consists of an old Marantz 4070 quadradial amp and an external Lepai amp for the center channel, So when I'm listening directly from one of these discs I just flip the center switch off and voila. Also comes in handy for adjusting the volume of center-only vocals in SW mixes. The main drawback is that it takes a bit of tinkering to get the balance right.
