wow Dutton Vocalion really nailed the Quad thing right out of the gates, we've had so many gems from them since they first went down the MultiCh path I'd forgotten how fabulous the surround sound is on this early release!

Best Of Bread (AF SACD)

got to be one of the all-time classic Quads, every tracks a gem.. sounds so nice (Diary especially gorgeous sound quality and the way it's mixed so so nice) a few tracks benefit from just a wee crank of the volume maybe, not a bad thing i guess it shows its not been futzed with..!? the mix is a little quirky at times but "it don't matter to me", baby i'm-a lovin' it all the same..!

another AF meticulous MultiCh triumph! the sound quality on this one, OMG its just to die for!!
sooo wish AF were still doing Quad SACDs, the combination of what they could access/license plus DVs releases, from two labels on either side of the pond who both know how to treat the 4-ch mastertapes right, would be soooo awesome.. ah well, we can enjoy everything AF gave us (not inconsiderable!) and DV too so far and look forward to the future with DV, for the Quad phoenix's comeback rising from the flames!

edit: (and a disclaimer, as it's Chardonnay O'Clock, anything is now possible) there's something almost divine and heavenly about "Clover" on this disc.. with the Quad I'm slap bang in the middle of the musicians and the vocalists its defined and discrete surround yet its airily magical and still gels as a whole somehow, its both an 'in the room' and an 'out of body' type listening experience at the same time.. spellbinding surround sound, definitely one of the best Quads I've ever heard (and there's been a few over the years now.. eek.. i'll have been a QQ member 10 years next year and a QQ lurker a good few years before that.. time flies while you're having Quad fun eh!)

Camp as Christmas yet soulful and jazzy, the instrumentals are like the Benny Hill theme on acid and the tracks with vocals are like the Hues Corp on dope! love it!

So, you're SUPER STRUTTIN' for the very first time with those luscious D~V QUAD 2~fers! BTW, two of my favorite D~V remasters. Hopefully, we'll get more CTI QUAD SACDs. AIRTO's Fingers is likewise excellent!

Seems it was slated for MLP DVD~A 5.1 but never released in that format. I do have the Quad OR, though I haven't played it in years!

..and so ends a delightful do-nothing day, no work, no stress, no hassle, just hours and hours of kicking back surrounded by Quads from SACDs.. a playlist of bliss, courtesy of Audio Fidelity and Dutton Vocalion, now a little nightcap from DV to round things off.. the new DV Rick Derringer 2-fer (again).. never gonna lose that funky sound! over and out my fellow Quadheads!
