First reaction: Not so impressed with Ian Gillan's replacement, David Coverdale. Sorry Whitesnake fans
He don't just have the right range of vocals for this band..just my opinion folks.

Mix is good though.

And Lord's organ gets a good airing.

I am with you :hi

Now wouldn’t PERFECT STRANGERS be AWESOME as a multi-Channel 😀

I actually shot 2 of their shows on that tour in Toronto and Detroit😀😀. Loved having breakfast with Ian 😀

Well there is the live--Perfect Strangers , but it's kinda tame in surround .

Would love to hear "IN ROCK " in surround , and any of the unreleased quads by Purple , as well as any shelved unreleased 5.1's .
Anything prior to Stormbringer would be great.(Burn , Fireball , Who Do You Think You Are )

JP, 5 years ago they were STILL selling replacement DVD~Audio cases for a buck apiece. Now they're unavailable at any price.

Dar's Green World is a very respectable outing with gorgeous sonics, a nice discrete mix and nothing earth shattering but certainly worth the $5 you paid.

Give it a spin and make sure you don't let that sticky residue from the label gunk up your shiny new case upon opening.

You are absolutely correct Sir!, I owe Dar an apology:oops:, I do need to listen to it and I might even love it, you never know. There are several of these titles that are still available for low prices. I don't even care much about the condition of cases in my personal collection. But if I ever sell one (I have many many multiple titles I've bought at good prices) that I'll part with some day and want them to have good cases. Even when I buy off ebay, I request the seller send the item in a box to protect the case, and to their credit most will oblige. As far as stickers on the cases, I've had good luck with using Olive oil to remove the sticker and then wash off with soap and water. Thanks for keeping me real, even if I'm a rogue dog! :p

Joe Bonamassa - Live at the Beacon Theatre on BD-V in 5.1. Probably my favourite of the 10 or so of his that I have. Sure wish he'd do something in surround on BD-A or SACD. Most of his CDs are squished, though a few of his albums on vinyl have decent DR, but of course no surround. Not to mention I'm too old to be dropping needles :D

Zappa Plays Zappa DVD - I've read that this was filmed in HD, so I would love to eventually get a blu-ray of this, along with lossless audio. While only in 5.1DD, the DVD sounds surprisingly good for a live concert and also definitely has some wrap around surround activity going on. Amazing performance with some great guest musicians like Terry Bozzio and Steve Vai. It also won a Grammy for best rock instrumental performance for 'Peaches en Regalia.'

Well I thought its about time I joined the 21st Century.
So I've been ripping my DVD-A's and playing them through foobar.

I know the folks here have added so much detail on what to use and how to use it, which I shall be eternally grateful for.
As it can seem like you are climbing a cliff initially!!

I also found this site useful as it summed me up to a T:

Now playing through foobar :
Dizzy Gillespie
Matrix

Yes its Silverline but its not that bad.
Decided to rip my cheaper purchases first, just in case I messed up.:)

This is truly an amazing document of an amazing performance. Looks and sounds terrific for a mere DVD with Dolby Digital. Actually two DVDs and three CDs in this worthy package. I highly recommend you get yours if you don’t have it yet in your collection!
