In celebration of the announcement of "Octopus" today, I'm spinning the 1976 Quad mix of "In'terview".
I know lots of people don't care for this album compared to "Free Hand", but I think this album has a better Quad mix than the former, so I find myself spinning this DVD more. :)

Now I'm re-spinning "The Power & The Glory", and as I'm doing so, I'm finding that I'm really enjoying the ballads on this listen like "Aspirations" and "No God's A Man". :)

Zarathustra - Sina Vodjani (SACD)

This is a groovy album of Chillout/Lounge music with a Middle Eastern flavor. The ethnic music & instruments of Persia are livened up with the beats of modern Club music. The surround mix is immersive and has discrete elements. It also comes with a discussion of Zarathustra and Zoroastrianism (the religion of Freddie Mercury) and beautiful photos of Persia (Iran).

Here's an in depth review... http://www.musicweb-international.com/classrev/2007/June07/Zarathustra_Vodjani.htm

Ladysmith Black Mambazo - Long Walk To Freedom (SACD)

With all the talk about Paul Simon, I'd just had to hear this one again.

The discrete surround mix is fantastic!

Now I'm moving on to one of my favorite Audio Fidelity Multichannel SACDs, "Child is Father to the Man" by Blood, Sweat & Tears :)

(no thumb porn this time though) ;)

Now I'm switching things up a little bit by playing selected highlights from "The Raven That Refused to Sing", starting with "The Holy Drinker"

:)

In honor of Van Morrison's 70th birthday, I just miiiggghhht have to break the cellophane on Moondance tonight...

DO IT! Simply one of the best 5.1 surround mixes of music from that time period. So glad it escaped the vaults almost 10 years after it was first initially mixed in surround! :)
