The Pineapple Thief - Your Wilderness; Where We Stood Bluray DTS-HD MA 5.1
Man, this is simply sublime. Excellent job by Bruce Soord on the wonderful surround mix. This is also one of the best bargains in the MC market. My sole complaint is the bass tone and level during the live concert performance. I can never get it to have any real presence at all. Definitely belongs in every QQ member's collection!

Big Head Todd and the Monsters
Crimes of Passion

I completely agree with Mike's review back in 2016

Goodness knows what the previous reviewers were listening to.
I always have my rears higher than auto settings and this album sounds mighty fine to me.
It's a good release and deserves more attention...imo

Anthony Phillips and Andrew Skeat
Seventh Heaven

Just arrived today

On very first listen: a beautiful, melodic piece of art is my lasting impression.

Is it discrete?
The million dollar question.
So far, I have to say, not spectacularly so.

But here's a thing, the music is so good that I forgive him in being conservative with his mixing. It is there but it ain't gonna hit you for six.
You know when you are placing your ears near the rears to see if you can tell what instruments have been placed there...that's it in a nutshell. Invariably they hav'nt been given clearer separation.

I look forward to reading other reviews..

That's the problem when you have Mr Wilson and the Watford wizard blessing our ears!! ( not that it is a problem!!)

Would I still buy it...you betcha.

Steve Hackett - At The Edge Of Light 5.1 DTS DVD- Discrete orchestral and keyboard activity in the rear channels which is good; drums sound like they're coming from an echo chamber far off in the distance which is bad (but I'm only 2 songs in so far...)

...Starting to hear other discrete elements in the rears: guitars; percussion... getting use to the odd drum sound and enjoying the tunes :)

Can you check the stereo real quick, to see if that is the sound they were going for or if it's a "feature" of the surround mix?

Sure... but I'll just say I'm getting kind of the same experience I had with the last album... the fidelity seems kind of muddy and the drums are kind of "boomy" for the first 2 songs, but it either gets better or you get used to it... I'm loving the music and enjoying lots of surround activity... it's feeling "8-ish", but it's a little early to tell... I definitely want to listen again, which is a good sign!
