An excellent album, indeed, Mike.

Unfortunately, the Chesky approach to surround was akin to most classical labels.....ambient rears but their recordings have always been audiophile in every other respect. I have all but one or two of the Chesky SACDs.

BTW, Mike, do you have this one. An acquired taste, to be sure, but it will give your system a sonic workout:

HAHA! I'm doing some instructing here now, maybe I can get you a tour. They have a huge small scale RR in house for switching training. I'm involved with freight car air brakes.

I was just listening to the Jazz version today, and I'm always surprised how good they sound for such old recordings. Some people say they are nothing more than fancy up-mixes, well I don't care, they sound great to me!

I now have all of them, 8 I think? Even the New Age which is kind of like massage music and the Classic Crooners are super, there is not a bad egg in the bunch. Our gain, there loss.

I can see there are actually 9 of them, I have never seen the one called Bandstand Boys, must be rare?

Ages ago the DTS folks offered their 5.1 titles for sale on their own web store. When they decided to shut the store down they sold off their less popular titles at rock bottom prices and I grabbed a bunch of classical titles. I have never given them much attention. Apparently these were all sourced from early 70's EMI quads. Nothing too crazy discrete happening here. I don't think you see these around much. The Mozart titles aren't even listen in Discogs.
