His set up is virtually the same as mine. A Marantz 8012 amp, a 7.2. 4 speaker set up. Sony x800 Blu ray player. The Marantz will play flac files but my first attempt failed so need to revisit that. TV is the same too!
He stayed for a week here in the autumn and liked what he heard so copied it. What grips me though is that his new house is a huge 6 bed Victorian one with massive rooms and high ceilings..boy does his system sound superb..grr ..sibling rivalry there.:)

Is the house haunted?

Since Red has declared this to be DVD SATURDAY...another blast from the past...surround is the typical concert quality...it does have some separation of the vocals to the front channel...but the big draw here is the performance...this was on the Steel Wheels tour..in the pre social security era for the Stones....this was kinda of a big deal at the time...what I mean by that is the THX certified feature....and if you had a laser disc you will notice that opening sound and the IMAGE entertainment screen shot appear...

I saw the Steel Wheels Tour live in Jersey many moons ago and the opening act was Living Color. What a blast from the past!

You were on the passenger service here before it was Via Rail? You must be almost as old as me.
I only rode on Via but the tracks are still owned by CN. I hope to get up there again before May 1st. At that time VIA is going to change their schedule for the Canadian by 12 hours. After that daylight running will become nighttime running and nighttime running will become daylight.

Finally folks for me here in good old Blighty

The Jimmy Cobb Quartet
Cobb's Corner

Another Cheeky sorry Chesky output..claiming to be Multichannel!!
It is if you like tons of reverb and echo

Again solid tunes and accomplished musicians ..but they have got a nerve.

An excellent album, indeed, Mike.

Unfortunately, the Chesky approach to surround was akin to most classical labels.....ambient rears but their recordings have always been audiophile in every other respect. I have all but one or two of the Chesky SACDs.

So you don't have a train set in your house huh?...bummer...skherbeck and I were planning on coming over to check out the trains

HAHA! I'm doing some instructing here now, maybe I can get you a tour. They have a huge small scale RR in house for switching training. I'm involved with freight car air brakes.
