What an afternoon, started with REM Automatic in Atmos, and them Mailman arrived with Carly Simon: No Secrets DVD Audio . I had the MOFI sacd sold that and got this. I love it not going back to stereo again.

IMO that is the definitive edition of a Carly Simon release...that version really showcases her voice...I have the other SACDs...but they pale in comparison to that surround version👏

Still got a copy (sealed), maybe I should give it a listen?

I can't say anything about not opening titles...some I have had for a few years and they are still sealed:eek:...but that one...you should give it a spin....there are Carly titles with better content....but her voice on that one.....well...I do get smitten with some of these female voices....and that's true with this title...it's the warmth...like you were sitting on the front porch at night when it was quiet and she was sitting on a swing(it's a southern porch with white columns)and she was singing to just you...so if that's not appealing to you...just leave it sealed😇

Shite, now I gotta go box diving; like I say, plenty yet to listen to.

But Clinty.....MoFi's Carly Simon Stereo SACDS aint too shabby. I really wish her eponymous album which was remixed into QUAD would finally be released. An exquisite debut, IMO.

You are right...those MoFi Stereo SACDs are very good...I like them a lot...BUT just singling her voice out...the separation you get on the surround mix...let's you hear what her voice is all about...fun fact Ralphie...You're So Vain back up vocals were provided by someone you know...from the second chorus on...a fella named Mick Jagger...and Carly played the piano on that song..

Another exquisite Tomita multichannel release with a fantastic bonus RBCD [Denon/Multichannel SACD/w/bonus RBCD] http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/product/COZQ-1023?s_ssid=e449195ca925f83467

No aguments there, Clinty. Was You're So Vain actually about Mick Jagger, BTW? Hotcakes, Carly Simon [debut] and the Best of Carly Simon all have QUAD remixes. I do have her first album on QR ..... haven't played it in a long while but from my recollection ....a stunning remix! Akin to No Secrets, the QUAD remix elevates that album enormously.

No Mick was just adding some vocals....the song was supposedly about 3 men...only 1 name was given publicly...Warren Beatty...it wasn't James Taylor because she wrote the song in 1971...before her marriage to Taylor...so at that time things were good between the 2...

Just watched Billy Elliott so got me thinking about T REX: Electric Warrior anybody got it?. and how good is it?.
Listening to GBYBR Elton Blu Ray DTS 5.1 . Interestingly found out last night when listening to Lynrd Southern Surroundings that my DTS come out 7.1 so my Denon is doing some form of Matrix for the rear speakers.

Electric Warrior is a title that I was interested in at one time and CDJapan had a cheaper re-issue...BUT...I got swayed by this...and opted out of buying it...

According to Wikipedia, colitas may refer to: A slang term in Hispanic culture for the buttocks or: A slang term in Mexico for the buds of the cannabis plant.

I really hope they were refering to the latter.

I doubt "buttocks" were rising up through the air...although there was this one girl I dated...ah nevermind😏

Hardly a demo style surround remix but hey it has Bang a Gong which is primo T~Rex! Good choice, Clinty....the MLP DVD~A 5.1 ROCKS!

fwiw, if Goona has it on their shopping list, the DVD-Audio is muuuuuuuuuuuuch harder to find for sensible money than the Surround SACD these days 🧐
