Been listening to this one, and to say I'm not overly impressed wouldn't be an understatement!
What is wrong with this thing?
Mastered by Bob Ludwig - just sounds very blahhhh to me, and I really enjoy Mayer's music. Seems like a real wasted opportunity.
Would have loved to get Continuum in surround; at least the Live BD: Where The Light Is, is a great show.

WHOA, PUPSTER. Granted the surround mix is hardly adventuresome but the Sound explodes from my speakers like cotton candy on a summer day.

Still got a copy (sealed), maybe I should give it a listen?

I was never the biggest fan of it. It sounds nice, and it’s cool to hear Carly’s voice isolated in the center channel, but it pales in comparison to the old quad mix.

The quad version of “You’re So Vain” is a blast. There is a loud guitar part in the right rear that’s buried in every other version I’ve heard, and the guitar solo flies around the room. I’ve used it as a CD-4 demo.

It's a shame, Jonathan, that in just about EVERY instance, when the majors started to futz around with those original [and superior] QUAD masters turning them into subpar 5.1 remixes......everything went SCREWY!
