I found it pretty lacking and i’m easily pleased, his 5.1 mixes are great but none of his atmos mixes blow me away, I have a few of hisAbbey Road?
His Beatles Sgt Pepper's 5.1 Surround mix is unlistenable for me - too much mid-range squonk.I’ve yet to be impressed by a Giles Martin atmos mix
Atmos mix? When was that released? His Beatles Sgt Pepper's Atmos mix in unlistenable for me - too much mid-range squonk.
Sorry, my bad - 5.1 surround mix on the Deluxe box set. OP edited.Atmos mix? When was that released?
Well there is one. Or rather more accurately two. There was one done as a demo for Atmos for audio shows, which was uploaded to Apple Music at the launch of the service, then removed and re-done with near-field Atmos in mind vs the demo far-field.Atmos mix? When was that released?
If you don't mind, can someone quickly explain to me the difference between near-field and far-field Atmos?Well there is one. Or rather more accurately two. However, streaming only.
I think far-field is for larger spaces like movie theaters. Maybe something with the delays? If you don't mind, can someone quickly explain to me the difference between near-field and far-field Atmos?
That's my understanding too: bigger spaces, bigger speaker arrays. Near-field is done with living rooms in mind.I think far-field is for larger spaces like movie theaters. Maybe something with the delays?
Even though I played Trevor Horn, it hasn't been of interest to me - it could easily have fallen into the never played category. Initially, I thought I wouldn't play Dylan, but I got hooked on that one after repeated listens to the album online so now it is one of my favourites. My unopened discs [so far] are: -
#05 Brian Eno, ForeverAndNoMore
#08: Bob Dylan, Time Out Of Mine
#14: Trevor Horn, Echos
