Hi All,
I presume this is probably mentioned SOMEWHERE but... has anyone got any Kodi thoughts/observations/solutions on playback of Atmos files where, well, the volumes are shockingly disparate?
I'm really stunned by how different the volume levels are: I would not dare to use it on any form of random playback. You could be playing something from Tidal at a modest volume; then Roger Waters The Wall bluray and those bombs shake the foundations of the house, you know. I'm worried I'll blow up my sub lol.
My initial thinking is that this is not easily resolved. To play Atmos, we need to send a bitstream. So the reason this has never been a problem in my world - which is foobar2000 with ReplayGain - relies on altering the data, which I am not so sure can be done in the Atmos world.
Generally, I must recommend Kodi. I was put onto it here; and it has taken some adjustment (which I likely to first using an optical mouse when I was a kid) but it really is a nice, well sorted piece of software.
Cheers!
