This thread has certainly inspired me. Well, not to watch a movie...but at least consider watching a movie. Might have to dig out my blu of Unforgiven. What a freaking awesome movie.
You know Gene... I’ll be the first to admit that I often just watch parts of movies that I really lIke. I love movies and often see them more than once, but it’s also a real treat to watch certain scenes again. I don‘t analyze them or anything. But some moments are so natural and inspired. It’s like listening to a favorite song off an album, I guess.

That's a good question...
The answer is movies we liked when we were kids. 🤡

And yes, George Lucas says he made Stars Wars for 12 year olds.

for a 12 year old kid movie there's so much adult symbolism it's not even funny

Good vs Evil

Black vs White

Son vs Father

Trust vs Faith

Hope vs Despair

Creation vs Destruction

I could go on and on and on

who the fuk doesn't like Star Wars? It's literally the epitome of every movie genre ever made condensed into 2 hours.

A Masterpiece is an understatement

if I'm wrong tell me why this isn't true?

Budget$11 million[3][4]
Box office$775.5 million[3]

When adjusted for inflation, Star Wars is the second-highest-grossing film in North America (behind Gone with the Wind) and the fourth-highest-grossing film in the world. It received ten Oscar nominations (including Best Picture), winning seven. In 1989, it became one of the first films to be selected as part of the U.S. Library of Congress's National Film Registry as being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant." At the time, it was the most recent film in the registry and the only one chosen from the 1970s. In 2004, its soundtrack was added to the U.S. National Recording Registry. Today, it is regarded as one of the most important films in the history of motion pictures.

It’s a shame. They make three times as much on toys as they do on films. It’s natural to make decisions that protect the toy business but that’s not the best thing for making quality films.”

Cliffhanger
